What I thought was a terrible night of fishing turned out pretty good yesterday. In 2+ hours at the Lagoon I managed to only catch 5 Lik, lose 14 lures, and snap 2 rods. Figured I'd turn in the 5 before I went to bed and #4 put out for me :D. Quite an unexpected surprise. I only hope Gug's are as kind to me...

Go ahead. I just put my minimum price, lower than that and it's not worth it for me and I'll do marlins/titans. Just have to stay competitive <3.

Or just be friendly with the other common lik/gug bazaar'ers on your server and both make a very nice profit. Juliano and I, and now SmokerX and I both discuss what we should be bazaaring at and keep prices the same. Instead of selling at "minimum" prices where it's almost not worth it we both sell for a higher price and save time in the long run. I'd rather sell 20 at 19k than 26 at 15k (yes, I know it's 10k off but you get my point). In the end it means less opportunity for upcoming competition as well as less time I need to dedicate to fishing.

I know that communication with competition sounds like an omgwhat, but when you can team monopolize a market instead of deal with cut throat competition I believe it tends to benefit all parties involved more in the long run.

Just have to be careful you dont scare off potential new buyers =P I'm gonna be pissed if you guys keep the prices near 20K, won't even be worth attempting it at that point. :-/

Depends what you plan on doing as a high level fisherman, if you just enjoy hitting up talacca or nash and npcing them for 130k a day you're right. So, maybe not for you, but there will be buyers. 15k/19k has been a pretty steady price for 3+ months now. I wouldn't bother fishing them for less than 15k each, just doesn't seem worth the effort.

Just had a record best ride on the ferry to whitegate. 6 Gugs bit my line (7 bites is my highest) but I caught all 6. 80 Fishing + 4 gear + 2 adv. support. Been tracking all gug fishing by skill and day/moon. This happened Windsday Waxing Gibbous 83%

I hear ya, I bought all my fish so I remember the feeling. I think Gugs have been historically a bit higher priced because they used to (or still do for many fishermen) require albatross + penguin ring. While Liks can be yanked up steadily with just albatross. Not to mention the rumor is/was gug items were harder to get so people finished liks first and then were desperate and would pay 19-20k for gugs.

If you decide you want to take it slow with gugs for 15k each let me know. I don't mind selling to friends for a bit of a discount as long as you're not buying them for 15k for me, and then buying every other one on the server for 20k, makes me feel like I lost out on potential gil for no reason.

The best part about finishing ebisu is selling Lu for 3-3.5m, that covers 150-200 fish.

Undercutting is silly. Having no buyers for a while is common, just stockpile the fish, eventually a new buyer with lots of gil will pop up who will buy all of your overpriced fish.

I get home later and he's fishing in Lufaise. He says he's lost 9 minnows already but has reeled 3 in. I fish with him for awhile, we each pull in 3 liks in this time and he says he's gonna go turn them in and get some more lures. He goes to Selbina and gets silk on 6th trade.

So 2/2 Ebisu items, both in one day. On 12 fish total. There are no words...

Incidentally I didn't get to even sell him a single lik.

Not an issue, sir. I am a cheapass, I would wait around for 15K fish. Just got my second Lu, so now all profits will ultimately end up getting eaten by the Ebisu monster I think...

I have fishing 75 and like 85000 GP, so I'm close enough to start in the next week or two I think.

I was speechless when he sent me the /t, I think I went through all 5 stages of grief, especially since I went something like 2/1500 on my own items, and I know you were far into triple digits yourself on both items. Some people and their luck.
