Having done fishing, alchemy, cooking, leather, and gold GPs I will say fishing is not bad. Sure you may have to keep one of each lure in your MH, but other than the complete BS ones like Elshimo Newt or Crayfish you can generally go fish them up in 20 mins or less even if only for 2k-3k points. An additional bonus is you're not paying out the ass in the sense that Goldsmithing may make you do. I get it though, TINSTAFL. You'll get a streak of shit days, then a streak of 5-6k+ without the concern of obscure mats cockblocking your synth. Grass greener, etc, etc.

Yeah all crafts have something crappy. Though I notice fishing seems to have more 5k+ days than most. And less crappy to get things.

Lots of lucky folks on here lol. And some so not lucky, feel bad for the 2.6k+ Gugs :< Just started and I'm only on 130's Gugs, but I'm pretty optimistic about this quest. I'm also working on Lu Shang on a mule the same time as these guys and I'm gonna see if Ebisu is a faster to get or Lu Shang, for me. Assuming I can catch ~30 Gug or Lik a day I'll have about 1.5k stock to get both item before it beats Lu in length. /crosses fingers

@97 skill atm. the other day I got: opal silk 1/20 and two fish later: saber shoot 1/115
I do not have the KI yet, and only 25k GP atm. should I spend the 20k gp and rank up or let myself cap at 100 and get the 95k gp first?

20k is a long time, you're better off getting GP and doing other stuff besides fishing in the meantime. you have all the time in the world to skill up while making money later.
