And to the person who mentioned the stepcharts, I was mainly talking about the music quality when I said Kyle Ward. Fairly certain he doesn't make any step charts.

Pluto Relenquish is better than ANY ITG song. Hell, Celebrate from DDR Extreme is better than any ITG song.

Also I've been playing DDR for over 9 years so I am a bit biased.

I kinda don't play anymore though and moved to beatmania almost exclusively.

So you are just mad because people find ITG songs more challenging and better than DDR songs?

Wait did you say Pluto Relinquished is better than anything in ITG? Whats next, Bumblebee is better than Bumblebee, or Follow the Sun is better than Sunshine? I know you said you're a bit biased but really, Relinquished sounds like it was just made to be hard, like it was made so Konami can have their own version of Vertex^2, although both are heaps of turd musically. DDR songs mave have more "challenging" songs but its full of gimmick stops, speed changes, offbeat/sync arrows.

I used to play DDR and i tried ITG back in 2005.

I tried to go back to DDR but SN scared me away. The main problem seemed to be that Konami of Japan kinda abandoned DDR from 2002-2006. Instead they seemed to focus on pop'n , IIDX, and GF/DM etc.

I stopped playing around 2004 when i just up and left to start playing IIDX RED.

I really never got the hype of ITG. I blame DDR sucking in recent years due to konami just acting retarded. They waiting a long time on ddr before adding improvements past 7th mix, and they recenty did that same thing to iidx, keep the same formula add some new features, then outta no where they add freeze shit and what not because o2jam did it years ago.

The freeze shit in Sirius is actually pretty retarded and I would like for it to be removed. The reason, for me at least, IIDX hasn't gotten stale yet is that the songlist is strong every single release

Your post makes no sense because the examples you used are the same songs.

And I totally agree on the freeze shit in Sirius. But, it was only in like 2 songs at the Location Test and only a few notes in each song.

That wasn't from SN anyway. It was from STR!KE.

But then again, SN is like STR!KE AC.

Just out of curiosity since I only casually play whatever version of DDR my local cinema sports in its arcade, how the hell does the guy keep up @ 3:03 where it bounces from left/right to up/down insanely fast? I didn't think that section would be physically possible.

He's the only one who i've seen do it, its just good footwork, and ITG pads are different than DDR pads so its a lot easier to Heel/toe.

Just to reiterate what was has already been said 10 times over - ITG >>>> DDR.

I was able to get Bloodrush down after a few months practicing. Kevbo has been around for a while too. He was my inspiration as far as getting going on ITG2. Hadn't seen the Vertex^2 vid though - nice find.

    ITG is more difficult.
The pads are more sensitive (read: they work right) than DDR machine pads (read: sensitivity of a paralyzed body), mainly due to the fact that ITG includes songs which have hands in them, which DDR does not. This makes it a lot easier to play imo.
You can put your USB stick in an ITG machine, play custom songs (Provided it's at least R21) and record your scores, take screenshots, and see how many calories you burned.
Also, the songs on ITG don't fail terribly. I started on ITG, and in less than 6 months of playing (no prior experience) I was playing on the Expert level (Lv12 Stepcharts). Also got me in great shape, really intense stepcharts.
I was in a tournament at Niagara falls hosted by BarX (title holder of best in Canada at ITG) and I didn't do too bad. I have tried DDR machines (and even DDR cabinets that were converted to ITG and the pads suck shit) and it just makes me want to kill myself. Like. perma-Vivid arrows give me a headache. Half of them don't allow me to adjust speed modifier. I can't play unless it's at least 600 BPM lol.

ITG owns DDR in so many ways it hurts lol.

It's a lot more simple than you think it is, what he does is places his right foot over the up and right arrow, and his left foot on the left and down arrow, from there he bracket stomps, so that he hits both arrows at the same time, it's basically a 16th stream in place, and it combos the jumps

Basically, DDR pads have 4 little bar sensors for each panel, one on each edge of the square. It's easy for dirt/shit from people's shoes to get caked on and effectively render 1-4 of them useless. Most arcades don't clean their shit well so you usually wind up with all of the panels having just one or two good sensors per panel. On top of that the sensors can become dislodged easily. Worse is if they get stuck down by the dirt, so that the panel is always on (inoperable). I used to work at an arcade and they wouldn't allow me to clean it, since it was "not worth the time."

Compare this to ITG, where they just have one big sensor at the center of the panel. It's much easier to maintain, and you don't have to stomp at all. Not that it stops most South Florida players from trying though. You shouldn't have to stomp on a working DDR machine either, in fact it's probably better not to since the sensors won't dislodge that way. Although who cares, everyone else is going to stomp no matter what.
