i never understood how people could play xi with a controller either, its always, 100% of the time, faster to play with a keyboard if you just learn it, there is no command you can do faster on a controller, none

It's faster to do fine targeting with a D-Pad
Up/Down goes through the party/alliance. Left/Right cycles through game window targets to the right and left of you, starting from what's closest from a center line in the middle of your camera view.

Also not 100% sure, but iirc, you have to press tab each time to change target, but with D-Pad, you can just hold the button down, and it will cycle through everything.

It depends, I want to play it on my PC. If i can upgrade it in time i will be playing on my PC. If not i will get it for my ps3 till I get my PC up and running to where I like how it looks.

People who play on pads are console gamers who got used to the finger movements and the transition to FFXI was really no problem. If you take the fastest person on a pad and compare it to the fastest person on a keyboard (standard). Pad player wins. I guarantee it.

Just google "PS3 controller drivers" and follow the instructions on the download. Its really easy and you can even get force feedback to work if you have a DS3.

PS3 here, as I'm expecting PC to be a shoddy port for quite the first while as well as being a resource whore given SE has toted it as a next-gen game for high-end systems, which to me screams 'lol, cant be bothered to optimize our codez'.
(that, and if they stay by their old claim of their next MMO being Vista and up, that leaves my XP rig in the dust)

PS3/PC already hooked up to the same monitor/speakers, so it's not a comfort thing for me either. I just need to find me a cheap USB-compatible KVM so I don't have to deal with a second keyboard on this desk though.

If it's anything like FFXI though with a universal account, I could just torrent the PC version at a later date when I got a more up-to-date rig that could run Crysis at High with a consistent 60fps. Beats buying a second copy of the game where the purchase is primarily for the serial key inside, not the game content.

I've always taken care of my account but I have had my World of Warcraft account taken many times and I hated the process of getting the account back. I could have been careless but I think more than three times is enough for me.

It's not just taking care of your account, its taking care of your computer, changing your password on a normal basis, staying away from potentially dangerous sites, patching holes (like Flash Player) as soon as possible, shit like that.

you can argue all you want for controller, but the fact of the matter is if you just took the time to learn keyboard it is in fact faster, there are no functions that you cant do faster on a keyboard
