And the 'fees' were generally coming from banks, not retailers. Retailers just have strict expiry dates so the card becomes worthless. So tell me Mr. Free Market Economist extraordinaire how will companies that make millions of dollars in profit from unused gift cards and fees justify raising prices on retail products?
