the 247k was much lower than expected, and I think that in order for the jobless rate to go down while still losing 247k, it would mean that there's more hiring than that going on in the month.
also vajra jesus man I hate to say this but lurk moar
More deficit spending WOO!
Hey Obama, maybe if we make the national debt 20+ trillion by the time we're done with your term (between public healthcare and whatnot, that goal shouldn't be too unreachable), we can just tell China that we're filing for bankruptcy and that we can't pay them back.
Start over with a nice, fresh clean slate, how bout them apples?
Go choke on a dick beesh, his mom is white, read the birth certificate link I posted. He's mixed END OF STORY. I dont know why you're misspelling kenyan, I just don't see any joke in your post. Anyways, like I said, if McCain was President, we wouldn't even be arguing the fact that he WAS born on the Panama Canal, because it was "supposedly" U.S. Territory back then...so it makes him a Naturalized Citizen at birth. I'm calling bullshit, that people accuse Barack of the stupidest shit, just because he's half black.
I wouldn't give a fuck if our president was a pasty ass white guy. If any president made cash for clunkers and tried to do this shit with public healthcare and signed a 1 trillion dollar stimulus, I would call bullshit if he was white, indian, black, mexican, asian, you name it.
The effects of fiscal and monetary policy are extremely limited as compared to the rhythms of the greater business cycle. To attribute this (temporary imo) gain on greater macroeconomic indicators to Obama would be akin to attributing America's rise out of the Great Depression to FDR's New Deal (i.e. wrong).Fuck the conservative doomsayers. Way to go, Obama.
I'm not an opponent of Obama, but the BG forums are so blindly liberal, end of discussion.
Wow....
christ vajra is giving vandole a run for his money on wooosh of the century
Bleh, I take it you were being sarcastic?
sorry man but it seems like the majority of liberals in this topic are remaining skeptical/cautious about calling this more than it may be.
also vajra jesus man, jesus
I agree that we won't really see the long-term effects until (dun dun dun) the long-term, but I disagree that fiscal/economic policy has no short term effects.
Yeah, the concept that "fiscal policy doesn't change anything fast" kind of goes out the window when you're dealing with dramatic moves intended to do exactly that.
This is not the same *kind* of progress Clinton made by any means, and it will take a ton of support to actually progress beyond preventing regression, but it's still a rather amazing apparent quick effect.
what the shit I'm agreeing with plow on something.
quick, someone find a police brutality story
