If any scene reminded me of TF2 it was the "Hugo Stiglitz Rescue" scene.
As for the scene with the TF sounds over it, that's not funny at all. In addition, that scene in the movie was ruined by Eli Roth's horrible acting: COME ON UP, BATTER UP, YOU'RE NEXT.
Terribad.
I was absolutely dying at the scene in the theater where Pitt tries to speak Italian.
Liked the movie, but didnt really like the comedy in some of the violence (and that is saying something from me). I dont mind violence and death, but when an entire theater laughs as a german soldier gets his head bashed in, it kinda sickens me.
Kill the people, understand what you are doing means something, and express that message. I realize that grotesque view of humanity was what he was trying to express, but not my style.
And yes, the Italian speaking parts were hilarious.
To those who've seen the movie:

While a true explanation, it seems rather stupid to me XD
Not you, but the screen writing or whatever.

good movie, but the basterds were secondary to the plot tbh. tarantino threw them in for marketing/a role to put pitt in, I guess. not that i necessarily disliked the basterds and their scenes, but they could've been written out entirely and the movie still would've been just as good.
I was sliiiiightly dissapointed.
I was mislead into thinking there would be A LOT more action than what there was. I liked the movie, but could have been another act or scene that just showed the bastards killing nazis, like the trailer suggested.
Completely agree with this sentiment. The movie was advertised as a "Drop the Basterdz into Germany and watch them kill Nazi's" type movie, but what we got was more of an espionage flick with the Basterdz appearing in barely any of the film. The Trailer was horribly misleading, Brad Pitt and the Basterdz took up 75% of the Trailer, and yet were only in 30% of the movie. While the Jewish girl was in a whole .5 seconds of the trailer yet 60% of the film revolved around her.
Don't get me wrong, it was a great film, but it poorly advertised itself as something it wasn't. I would have been happier if the trailer actually showed what the majority of the movie was about.
Better than those adds that show all the best scenes and the funniest punchline. But yeah, i thought it could have been a lot better. Christoph Waltz was fantastic.
Marketing types find what they think they can use to mount a successful ad campaign. Marketing a movie about 9-10 guys runnin around France killing Nazi's is a lot easier than 2 hours of relatively high brow espionage (for the average American moviegoer) with 30min of killing. Trailer was misleading for a reason, nobody would see it if was advertised for what it was. Further proof of this can be seen w/ the ad campaign for 500 Days of Summer, while broadly it can be considered a romantic comedy its by no means the happy movie tv ads make it out to be.

Anyways, saw this instead of waiting an extra hour and a half for District 9. Totally worth it though. I don't really know where to rank this among all QT's films yet though (and no I don't count Grindhouse: Death Proof).
