So, I think I have received a virus.

Basically, I used FFXIAH to communicate with a person 3 times. I server transfered a mule with gil and gave it to that person and received my item. Right before I was able to log off, my entire screen turned black. Not just the FFXI screen, the entire computer screen. I was forced to manually shut down by holding the power button since I couldn't do anything else.

Today when I logged in, my Windows XP started up differently, and went on about doing checks, and it said it deleted 2 things.

Am I infected and if I am, how do I get rid of this?

When you say started up differently do you mean that it went to a blue screen and scanned your harddrive? If so that's normal and typical of an abnormal shutdown. Probably nothing to worry about.

Yes, it did that. But this was my second start up since the entire screen went black. Wouldn't it have done the scan on the first restart since the black screen?
