Security System Virus

So last night while looking around on google, I followed a link which brought me to a very questionable site. I closed it immediately, and x'd out of the associated pop-up (I've since learned this was a big mistake). This gave my computer the Security System virus. From what I've read and experienced, it installs itself, marks all of your programs as malware and spews out false virus reports in attempts to get you to give them your credit card number for their Security System anti-virus, which from what I've read does nothing.

I managed to get rid of the virus by going into my Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, renaming the .exe it uses winlogon.exe (I learned that SS only allows core .exe's to run, everything else I would try to use, mozilla, etc. would be closed immediately) and then running that. That seemed to get rid of the problem. However, 20 or so minutes after my computer blue screened, and when I turned it back on SS had re-appeared. At first, MBAM didn't work, but after restarting my computer a few times I managed to get rid of it in the same manner as before.

My foremost goal is to get this shit off my computer. I'm not concerned with the why or hows. I'd like to avoid formatting if at all possible. I'm not the most proficient with computers, but I like to think I'm above average. I've run AVG, Spybot: S&D (old as fuck), and MBAM since originally removing SS, but my computer has, until now, continued to restart, sometimes coming back with SS, sometimes not. Even when I don't have the entire SS thing afflicting my system, another virus, AVCare, is plaguing me with pop-ups, and some red circle with a white X I haven't yet grown the balls to check out on my toolbar keeps telling me my computer is infected with about the same level of authenticity as SS (In other words, I would be more than amazed if it was legitimate). I'm really at a loss here. I managed to find a solution to SS via google, but when I look up AVCare or any of my other symptoms I either wind up on sketchy websites which seem to perpetuate my issues or find nothing at all. I'd like to avoid formatting, or bringing it in to a professional, but if that's what it comes down to I'd of course rather have my computer.
