Pre-elegy, you could easily party naked outside of HQ instruments (extra 24 seconds per song facilitates even more laziness). I went BRD/WHM pulling with Dia from the dunes forward.

I've been princessing my bard because its been amusing. My gear has just been leftover gear from my other jobs and I still get invites from a ton of parties. Full time PCC, Molda, tamas ring, XP ring, and other random gear. I did the BRD AF just so I can store it and look pretty. I cared more about fashion than I did about the stats. Wore Martial slacks until AF and the lvl 20 saio until I saw I had the RDM/BRD/BLU JSE body and swapped to that.

Oh I've been using a Sandy Horn +1 and before that was a cornette I got from a windy mandragora.

No bard(lvl 64 I think) but dont skill make you have higher haste/attack/acc on buffs? I mean ya its only a % or two when you get great gear and cap it but why would you say going geared wont help, this always pissed me off. Gear does something for bard, no matter how small it might be. Gear yourself right. Just love seeing a lvl 65 bard get a resit on slow in a tp burn when lvling up. Thats sexy seeing sam's shadows going down b/c that 30% slow does shit ya know?

everyone is gay and happy when they get that 100 more dmg on a WS vs a gimped player, why bards find the 1-2% + from gear nothing is funny. I bet i could TP burn on my sam in lvl 1 gear and get 20k/hr.

As a response to why I gave up on brd for cor, few reasons, some you may consider stupid, but they're reasons none the less:

1. I liked the idea of COR QD solos, had W legs from 75 RDM
2. I liked the idea of a marksmanship based DD job while supporting, I have 3/5 skadi (don't want head/body), 8/8 marksmanship and solid RA/WS gear from 75 Kraken RNG
3. I liked the idea of Corsair's roll making exp even faster
4. Because of all my RNG gear, it wasn't going to take nearly as much inventory space at 75 compared to brd
5. I planned on, and did, 34-75 all in East Rona S with a dedicated dual box 75 rdm PL and didn't want to worry about a shit ton of wind/singing skill ups I'd have to make up at 75.
6. I didn't want to be stuck on BRD at 90% of events
7. There's little to no demand for COR gear in my LS since the few that have the job leveled have it already
8. Rolls last 5 minutes, songs last 2:12ish, which means 2x as much singing
9. Cor seemed unique
10. There were a few LS zergs where I specifically remembered us only having 1 cor even though we had really wanted 2 for swaps.
11. Less work in merit pts
12. See #5, invites seemed to come faster at the 35ish level range
13. It just seemed more fun than brd

Now for the after thoughts...
1. I haven't used it for shit since I dinged it, and that was like uhh 5 months ago
2. It's really not useful in low man situations like brd is in comparison
3. It doesnt have a native slow enfeeb like elegy
4. I haven't solo'd anything with it since I'm pretty lazy lol, and can probably do whatever I'd do on cor, on rdm.
5. Currently leveling /dnc, which I wouldn't have leveled to 37 for brd, or any other reason
6. Gear was easy to come by, already have af2 body, and af2+1 hat, there's not really much else I needed that I wasn't AHable.
7. It was easy to level in East rona S, didnt need to worry about any mage rolls since I was PL, and there really weren't many at that level, or QD for that matter, so pretty much just kept up 2 melee rolls or cors + melee and had fun TPing with knives and hotshotting.
8. All in all, I think brd is much more useful, but if you're just looking for a situationally useful merit job you may have more fun with cor
