COR is actually my favorite job, in many roles. I play it whenever I can. However, that often translates to "when there is already a BRD". You want March, Elegy, and crowd control, and there aren't enough people with BRD leveled (I love "DD ONRY" types, really...it's like leveling a mage job would turn them metrosexual).
This means that if you level BRD, people will want your BRD, often. There are advantages to pimping out BRD, and you will notice them, but they are slim. And again, people will still grab the mediocre ones instantly. You definitely burn out on the job, and nothing makes you burn out faster than if you're an awesome BRD supporting average DDs. Dynamis is awful, especially if you're in a BLM party (I hope all your melee parties have BRDs first, or someone is Doing It Wrong).
If you level BRD to get merits on your DNC...hide it from the world, because unless you delevel BRD to 54 afterwards, you're coming on it to everything.
