It had more then enough power to drive all 3 of my new speakers and had enough options to configure them to sound perfect. There's a lot of good brands out there too, just my 2 cents.

Bass carries further then mids and highs, you could try just upping the crossover on your reciever and turning off your sub. Hang a few rugs on the walls to dapen the sound. Nice TV, do you run into any flash lighting in dark scenes when it's pitch black in the room?
Onkyo is <3 Also thanks for all your help kareface, after I move I'm going to get started on the speakers.

And very true about the bass. The con I was at last weekend closed the dance early because a few houses 1/2 mile down the road called and complained that they could feel the bass.

Actually Amazon.com is cheaper than monoprice for HDMI cables. For everything else though monoprice wins.

They look knida yellow at the front, but that's just the flash from the camera. Almost done with the finishing touches on the wood. All that'll be left is the paint.

Just curious, was there any particular reason you decided not to mirror your speaker design?

It was actually a mistake. It only affects off axis sound and I was too lazy & cheap to fix it. I could of just flipped the baffle over and tried to route out the inset for the speaker on the back but it was a lot of effort for something that wouldn't change the quality of the sound. The funny thing is once I get setup at my new place it'll actually be better this way, because the off axis shift will be directed towards the guest seating.

Just finished setting the speakers back up. The front of the speakers is finished. All that's left now is painting the other sides and making the stands for the right and left.

Random question Mini, your HTPC remote... do you use it for XBMC? I have the same case and remote and i find that its a lot easier for me to just use my keyboard to control through XBMC, but i think that may be because my buttons may not be configured right. Right now i just use my GO button to launch XBMC and then i navigate with keyboard.

Do you have a file you can share with your key bindings on your remote?

I did bind a bunch of the keys, but how I did it was first binding the buttons from the remote to buttons on the keyboard. That way I can use either as needed. I use both, but mostly the keyboard just because it's more responsive. I can post the xbmc remote file, but you'd need to have your remote buttons rebound to use it.

Cool thats what i was thinking. Nah its ok, dont worry about posting your remote bindings. I just need to pick up a cheap wireless keyboard to make it easier.

Honestly as far as a HTPC keyboard is concerned, I tend to prefer a di novo mini.

    Amazon.com: Logitech diNovo Mini: Electronics

Been using one for awhile, well worth the cost.
