apparently, the bad guys were chinese, and everything was changed post-production to n. korea because the film makers were broke and wanted to be able to distribute the movie in china?

Movie was really meh. The original may seem over-the-top and cheesy, but I'd still take it over how bland this remake was. Also, there was one plot-point they changed so much I wish they hadn't even kept it.

They kept one of the kids being tracked by the enemy, but instead of him taking the tracker voluntarily, he's unknowingly tagged by a pair of Spetznaz. So instead of the collaborator making a tough choice between his friends and his family and subsequently those friends choosing between friendship and their cause, it's just a thing that happened.

Words can't describe how bad this movie was. I guess Hemsworth wasn't satisfied with the Avengers cash and needed a quick paycheck.

This movie was made I think 2 years before Avengers started shooting. The producers shelved the project because they felt that at the time it wasn't ready for release.

Ah, I stand corrected then. It did confuse me that he'd take a project like this after his rise to notoriety with Thor, The Avengers and future Marvel projects.

I heard this also. Personally I think it would have been a more plausible scenario, but that's just me. Of course they've gotta use typical North Korea. That's a joke in its own.

I hated this movie from the first 5 minutes. This is one of those times when it would have been better as a shot for shot remake.

out of the thousands of movies I have watched, this is one of a handful that I could not stand to finish watching.
