Because I don't want a company cutting corners for something I'm paying for each month, and using tired excuses when people call them out on it.

Excuses or not.. it makes no difference. Either they say "yeah, we're not wasting money on that shit" or "PS3 limitations".. but in the end result is the same.
eh
lol

I figured it'd get locked after the +1 talk commenced.

You guys can agree to disagree, speculate, whatever. Just don't be dumb, please.
Not going to lock the thread because a couple people decided to be silly, just cut it out.
It just occurred to me, it would be fun to get some more costumes in the new game. Sure, my Taru is adorable and half my mage gear looks like a costume, but I want fun stuff like dress-up clothes, or more options for the base clothes you see when your gear is unequipped. Y'know, walking-around-town-crafting clothes. I find it amusing that a lot of shit games out there give you dozens of options for your base appearance, but xi made it so Mithras have one set of underwear, Tarutaru dress like a green teddy bear, and oh god the Galkas ; ; cover that up please ; ;
I'm pretty sure the new clothes crafter class can make just "casual" clothes, unless I'm wrong. Either way, I agree. I think it'd be kinda nice to have something to just wear, instead of class gear all the time. Clunky armor isn't always fun, and I don't exactly want to run around naked, either.
It wouldn't really matter to me if SE implemented that, but it'd be a nice cosmetic frill.
Mmmm... I love it when SB decides to moderate.
Whew, now I'm hot. AFK.
FF-related: There should be luxury clothes - pimp clothes, if you will. I want to be able to feel like a Duke or a Chancellor when I'm not out mindlessly slaughtering mobs for drops.
I loved the system Aion and LotRO had, where you could have your armor on, and wear an outfit "on top" of it. Getting awesome armor is great and all, but I hate running around looking like a clone of every one else that has the same job as me in end game.
I know things like this are just cosmetic and are probably in the back of the designer's minds, but it's little things like that that a lot of people appreciate.
At the very least, being able to dye armor pieces to match would be pretty cool. I think it would be neat to be able to dye it maybe to match your linkpearl color... but then again, that would probably rape my eyes with giant pinksuited Galkas and the like. I know WOW had the tabard, but I didn't really like that, as it covers up your whole armor. I like showing off armor, but I don't like that you look like a giant hodgepodge of crap.
Yeah, I really disliked looking exactly like everybody else end-game wise in FFXI. I have a feeling since a lot of games seem to be taking that approach now, FFXIV devs might consider it. Which would be nice.
I'm pretty sure they have a blacksmith class that can potentially make armor. Therefore, I can assume cloth crafter would make, you know. Clothes.
No need to get pissy over speculation.
You know what I actually miss, now that I've been gone for awhile? That checkerboard doublet that we all spent time wearing in the mid-40's in the crawler's nest. I forget what it was called, but I hope that in the new FF, if they indeed will have armor progression (tanks wearing leather >> scale >> plate >> full plate), we'll see the knight-class job starting out wearing squire-esque gear. I'd love to see a thick doublet with a tabard as one of the gear sets.
Every time I check the website, I always end up staring at that picture of the knight clad in full armor. It makes me salivate over the "potential" this game has to deliver.
I say it all the time nowadays, but I hope SE doesn't disappoint.
