What I miss about Michigan the most, THE MILITIA!
Actually, the Dems are the ones running around stating that at all these town meetings, folks are angry white men wearing swastikas and bringing weapons, and yelling really loud at poor politicians.
Scary white folk at the town halls yelling, OH NOES! They've been doing it a lot longer than just the last two weeks.
"Hei guyz look... if you agree with these folks, you're a angry white racist who likes guns... WHOOPEEDO!"
Yeah, we can't close down the gitmo because it'd get terrorists on our soil.
But disregard these, they are just good citizens exercising their constitutional rights.
Actually, the ones running around saying that are the media dipshits I mentioned earlier, along with a group of other media-exposed nitwits who are unfortunately too numerous to mention.
The Dems are trying to educate these people on the actual contents of the legislation being proposed and some of the ideas being tossed about for inclusion in the final bill. Instead they're having to deal with groups of completely misinformed & scared-into-anger people along with the Republican Base fascist brownshirts that still approved of Bush when he left office, who incidentally are the ones scaring & misinforming the others.
Speaking of Glenn Beck, did you see one of the videos on Stewart last night? The ones being afraid of Obama? During a republican meeting one of the crazy crowdgoers said to watch Glenn, and the speaker's reply was "Why don't we hear that? New suggestion up here. The suggestion to watch Glenn Beck. Here's what I suggest... turn that television off when he comes on." The boos of the video and the cheering of the studio make me smile on the inside for some reason. Gotta love bias, without stupid people there would be no real entertainment.
Oh, and Miz, I wouldn't worry too much about that comment either. No'th Kakilacky wasn't originally part of the south, they seceeded when VA seceeded in order to prevent being surrounded and destroyed; not that it did them much good when the Union came through and raped it anyway. Granted NC did still have a strong desire for the Confederacy, they were reluctant to secede when it became clear that Lincoln was the president - but after Fort Sumter and VA secession they were kinda screwed either way. Not trying to clear them of course - NC provided a vast quantity of troops for the South after all and had a major course during the war, so can't call them innocent.
