All that pot won't change the goofy accents. Should be fun though, I haven't smoked in public in a long while (well maybe once or twice in the past few months). If you do toke, you ought to check out the laws in your state and the penalties involved.
I was surprised to find out in NY if you have less than an ounce (and seriously, who but people Miz hangs out with carry that around) on your person (not bagged out for sales) then it is that $100 ticket (first offense), however... smoking in public or having anything with resin on it (bowl/bong/bat/etc) are much stiffer penalties.
Silly laws. Legalize this shit, or stop enforcing. My real suggestion would be to allow any citizen to grow as much as they can for personal consumption.
Goddamn I'm totally moving to Boston.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, jmcgarrell, but weren't there actual arrests made on people who were smoking in public on the day the ballot measure passed to decriminalize? I remember hearing of a scene where defiant and jubilant potheads were toking in front of police and got arrested for being stupid with the stuff (among other things, of course).
If that was the case, I can already see a similar scene with this event. I'd hop on the T and check it out, but I'll probably be getting reamed by class work around that time. D:
Yes there were arrests on ballot day.... it seemed to be a misconception that weed was fully legal in the state, which is untrue.
Mostly due in fact that people wanted to push officers buttons by blowing smoke in their face, and taunting them that "weed is legal and they cant do shit" and being arrested for disorderly.
If its anything like st. patty day...... and the new chief is in charge of the event (he probably will be) there will be hundreds of citations written, and those who cause a scene about receiving a ticket will probably be arrested. So if your gonna go smoke in public, take the ticket like a man... hand over the rest of the stuff when asked and go on your way without saying a word.
Now if only they would coordinate the hemp fest with the city hall plaza ice cream event.
