360 ffxi startup issues

anyone else having issues with ffxi starting up on 360? when i boot it up i get a black screen for upwards of 15-20 minutes. i'd think a reinstall would fix it, but i can't get to the uninstall menu, it just blacks out like when i boot up.

and now i can no longer install the disc to the hard drive, and when i go to run the game off the disc, i get a read error.
