    Graphical glitch

    I have a Radeon 4570 in a laptop I bought a few months ago.

I've been playing Aion for the past few days and today when I started the game up the graphics went haywire. The sky was going crazy with bars of weird colors flashing across the sky and the ground was also flashing some crazy blue green colors.

After messing around a bit to see if it was the game or the graphics card, I uninstalled the graphics card and reinstalled it and everything was fine.

I never had a graphics card die on me, so I'm curious if this is a sign of things to come. I have a 1 year damage warranty and a 2 year general warranty on this laptop so if it's going to die on me then I plan on sending it in.

EDIT: Btw the temperatures on the laptop was normal at the time. I have a cooling stand for it but the fans and the vent holes don't line up properly and I've been too lazy to get a new one but if it is a heating problem guess I should invest in one.

That's called artifacting. Excessive heat can cause it, but it could also be drivers. Try updating or backdating your device drivers (do some research first to find out which driver version works best for Aion).

What'd you get your temperatures from, out of curiosity? GPUZ or ATT or something else?

Check drivers, check heat, then stress test it with a benchmarking program and see what happens. Easy way to tell and you can have it running while you're away/sleeping/etc so it won't interrupt you.

Was using speedfan to get the temp, doesn't give temp of the card itself but gave temp of the cpu, hdd etc.

I think it had to be the driver since when I shut down the laptop for a good 10 minutes it still occured on startup but once I uninstalled the driver it was fine.

I'll try the whole benchmark/stress test thing thanks.
