Sewing makes leather and cloth armor. You can take two crafts to 450 and every other craft to 399.

It turns out I lose all input responsiveness after hitting ENTER when trying to log in. At which point the game stops doing anything for 90 seconds then disconnects me and quits out.

This is awesome, 70 seconds to just get to the login screen, 90 seconds waiting for a 'haha you're disconnected' message, and the cycle begins anew. It won't even tell me if I'm doing anything wrong.

So far not a good first impression. This interface design seems taken directly from Steam 1.0

And since I have to ask, how the fuck do I get it to stop opening up a new browser tab with aion's website every time it quits out?

When the servers are up it is pretty quick to change the screen when you hit enter on the login. Hopefully they'll dosomething about the client closing on disconnects since a lot have complained. Hell they dropped lolGameGuard, anything is possible I suppose. If you exit the client from the login screen there is no way to avoid the website opening up, however once you are in game on a character you can go to the options and there is one midway down the right side that you can uncheck to go to the site. This only applies to quitting the game on that particular character. The login screen is really an exercise in trying to cure the "clickers" that have to go click everything and press buttons when the system is unresponsive instead of waiting a bit.

For those of us that did actually play in the Beta and had to use Gameguard, what exactly can we do to get it off our computers at this point since NCsoft dropped it?

It's not like they are releasing some new GG free software I guess. We will get a small patch or w/e on start that will turn it off. That's all I would think.

anyway GG doesn't take alot of HDD space to create a problem if you leave it there

We will however continue to pursue ways to effectively utilize GameGuard within Aion in the future.

it's not "dropped", it's only temporarily being disabled. No point in deleting it, cause it'll be back on your machine in a couple months either way

Can anyone tell me whats up with some of these naming conventions.

Cere and Luk are ok.

Ceres and Luke "include forbidden words"

3 letters seem to be the min, so i understand Luk. But the only reason I can gather from not being able to use Luke and Ceres is that they are NPC's in game with those names...otherwise im at a loss.

the forbidden names list includes names used by npcs.

For people who've tried out dual-boxing:

How do you stop an instance of Aion from closing down? I noticed this if I was looking at one, the other would close down after awhile. Although, this was just during character creation.

Login/creation seems to have like a 60s disconnect timer if you do nothing.
