3D view worked for me once after installing Java for FF, but now it doesn't work anymore, not even in IE. So I'm guessing it's probably a tertiary issue to their site getting fucked over by traffic.

Just an idea, but i would first hotkey the pet attack command (which you can do/may have already done in Key Mapping). Once that is done, can you in any way trigger a mapped Key in a macro? I... am still trying to get an Assist macro to work. I love how their own example in game doesn't effing work.
I have read that instead of /Skill Assist Target you want to use /Skill Select Target's Target instead, so I will give that a try next time I am grouped.
Anyone have a map with flight ring locations? I have a hard time finding them
Anyone know much about legion creation? My legion name gets cut off now so I'd like to remake it, but I was reading on the Aion wiki that the following is a requirement:
If I take an alt to Sanctum that is currently in my legion but not the leader, will I be able to drop him from the legion and make a new one? I'm hoping the disbanded part means that you can't have been the leader of a legion that you disbanded... not that you have to go legion-less for a week before you can make a legion. Anyone know for sure?Check list for Legion Creation
- The character who’s trying to establish Legion had established or disbanded a Legion within the last 7 days?
- The character who’s trying to establish Legion belongs to another Legion?
- Are there enough funds for Legion Creation?
Not really a game mechanics question, but anyone here duo-boxing?
What's your approach to it? I don't mean logistics necessarily (although that would be interesting to hear as well) but, are you trying to bring them up at once? Or do you go back and forth? I have a 21Glad and Sin, and a 22Cleric that I want to finish. It took longer for me to do the Sin/Cleric because I put them in a party together to speed up quests (kill x, y number of times sort of things). I blame my OCD, should probably just grind and skip unnecessary quests..
kinda on the lines of the free trial thing, I'm trying to avoid spending $50 to try the game out. Is there any way getting around it? I wouldn't mind paying $15 for a month or something.
Download C-Aion. Play the 1.2 version of the game for like 5 bucksYou need to dig up a CSSN though.
This is a ranger DPS question, and I know there are a million threads on the aion forums about this but none of them that I have read have specifically answered my questions.
I'm only level 16 at the time so this is for solo play. I normally circle kite a mob and use entangling -> devotion -> swift bolt -> arrow strike -> autoshot, repeat, and sometimes a spike trap if I'm feeling lazy or there's potential or link.
I jumpshoot normally - to be honest I do this easily when I jump straight up and down but have a problem landing it correctly going from side to side - because I can fit both skills into devotion and a possible autoshot. I try to move forward when using skills and shooting for the bonus.
I use physical critical + manastones and shards when I can afford to do so.
I just feel like I'm not doing as much damage as other jobs, and in effect I seem to be killing things slower. I don't know if this is all in my head, or if I'm just doing something wrong. I know for one that I lag quite abit - I play on a laptop and sometimes my skills are extremely lagged.
My questions are:
1. Is there a way to do an autoattack without the bow animation? Like you would for skills. And if so can you sneak in an autoshot, like, directly after a skill? I saw a higher level ranger and they were shooting much faster....I am assuming this is due to rapid shot but I wasn't sure.
2. Skills auto face the target when jumpshooting but my normal melee hits do not, and I have to stop for them. When is the best time to do an autoshot? Currently I try to shoot while running, pausing a second to shoot then kiting.
3. Any tips to increase kited dps? In general lol, or anything that I do that someone might change! It takes me 30sec to 1 min to kill a mob depending on if it's my level or 1 above. I have no trouble killing anything and I can handle links easily. I just want shit to die faster!
Also, I tried to make an assist macro:
/Select [%target'starget]
that I copy/pastad from this guide , but it doesn't seem to work. It just keeps saying you have stopped using the macro. Eh?! Anyone have a good assist macro that works!
One thing that sped my killspeed up a shitload was buying a decent bow, and re-slotting everything from random manastones into full crit.
Going from 60 crit to 161 and gaining an assload of weapon damage helped a lot
Also you can autoshot while running away I jump> 180>180back to resume the direction I was running w/o losing distance because it takes place right after I jump, also make sure you resume your autoshots immediately after jumpshots to keep the DPS up. ( Skills will trigger facing away from your mob but autoshot wont , hence the jump 180. )
Ranger gets so much better as you level it's insane, 16/19 were decent, but 22/25 were bigger and felt like I'd got "everything", and then I hit 28 and got more damage and killspeed went nuts ( < 15s to kill higher level monsters if devotion is up on first burst ).
The basic assist command is:
To use this, first target a player, then press the macro. After that you will be targeting the target of the player./Skill Select Target's Target
Try this for a more advance assist macro:
This macro will target the mob that party member one is targeting and initiate auto attack. You can even add an ability as well such as:/Select [%Group1]
/Skill Select Target's Target
/Attack
For the command [%Groupx], x can have a value of 1-5 to adjust who is your tank/leader/etc./Select [%Group1]
/Skill Select Target's Target
/Skill Swift Edge I
A few gripes about Ranger:
How come using a ranged ability like Swift Shot will not start auto-shoot; whereas a melee skill like Swift Edge will initiate auto-attack? /hate
I am a Lv12 Ranger right now, and I say it is a pain. I have a Lv12 Templar atm and I think I might just stick to Templar if I don't experience the huge boost in performance that everyone is saying after Lv16/25 Ranger. It is honestly frustrating having to kite nearly every mob on ranger, when I see clerics just beating the snot out of mobs face to face even. What's the science behind that?
I don't really like the concept of kiting nearly every mob I go up against just to stay alive, but I'll stick to it until Lv25 and see for myself. There is also this huge requirement to keep jump shooting. The game seems to be very twitching and stressful on Ranger while it was a breeze on Templar. I am just lazy I suppose.
/end gripe
Thank you very much! I've really wanted some other ranger input. All of my friends on my server are different classes. I have a friend who is a good handicrafter so I am pretty set on bows, but at first I was using full evasion and I have some level 13 hq gear left over with the evasion manastones so that may be a reason...
Did you rebind your autoshoot from c or 1 to something else? It just seems so cumbersome there after pressing space bar for me![]()
I feel like I kill slow with my gladiator on anything my +/-2 my level and can also get roughed up for anywhere from 500-1500 HP a fight depending on the mob (26 now). This is ultimately what's led to my doubt on insane hourly money farming in the pic thread. Presently using the lv24 GS as my weapon and while green armor upgrades are available, they're both pretty expensive and still won't do much about my kill speed. Factoring in herb use and moving between mobs, I probably kill one every 30-40 seconds and add 1-12 if the mob's 2-3 levels higher or spams stun crap.
Actually I'm being kinda lame and using right click as I use right click held down for the freelook
Also, something I started doing that helped a lot, not so much your level but a bit higher 22/25 is mana actually starts to become and issue, you need to start carrying Odella powder for mana treatments
I'm a 32 ranger and I never have mana issues, Fayttt does though. I don't know what I'm doing different, but it saves me money on pots.
Is it possible to set your video settings in such a way as to leave your Taskbar visible during game play? Essentially, the end of the game screen would will be the top of the Taskbar so that open programs are visible while the game is completely viewable.
Tried changing my graphic and video settings but no luck so far.
Get another monitor. I have no idea how anyone can function in an MMO with a single monitor.
Well, I am not hardcore by any chance, but I'd think that a single monitor is enough for playing a game, lol.
Any suggestions for a rather cheap, functional second monitor for something like this and any link for guides on how I can go about setting it up? I also have a laptop, so is it possible to wire my laptop in such a way as to make it a second "monitor"? I am thinking there is a way...but can't find anything coherent through googling it.
Putting the game into windowed mode isn't sufficient? Otherwise, I've never really seen the need for a second monitor when alt+tab works just fine and you still have sounds to warn you of aggro and such.
