Waterfall is just easy agro free access to that side of indratu barracks once you're 50, and also gives you glides to the islands.
Attack speed cap is 50%.
20% BF, 19% bow, 6% gloves, 2% title = 47%
8% gloves = 49%
Still you can get to 47% and use the cheap 3% atk speed scrolls to cap instead.
I chose a BLM, thanks for the pointers. Now, where can I get decent armour? All this crap is way too expensive, and one levels way too fast to warrant a purchase at my lvl. Are there sets one can obtain via quests? Something in the range of 20's. Thx ;o
If you still have the orb you got when you dinged lvl10, +10 it off lvl 20 enchantment stones and it'll last you til at least 30 lol
Gear wise just find something cloth green with 2 slots and innate magic boost (or hp) on it and manastone it for magic boost. By the time you hit 30-35 you should have a decent chunk of money saved up and can start worrying about getting really nice stuff.
I camped a fat dude in the mines, forgot his name, chico... chiki, w/e for his robe, never dropped. Pioneer's any good? Idk if the database is right, but the drop rate looks horrible. Frankly, I don't think it's worth the trouble to even farm it >_>
I wouldn't rly worry about buying gear until at least 30... maybe then look at crafting (or having crafted) the lv 33 blue cloth set. Only thing you need to consider as a sorc is your orb/book. Orbs have higher dmg while books are higher MAcc. And if your using an orb then you may want to get a new one around 23-25 because going into Training Grounds w/ a lv20 (or lower) orb is gonna suck when you get massive resists trying to CC stuff.
But outside weapon's i wouldn't worry about gear outside drops/ect. At 33 you lv a bit slower so it's a better time to invest in some gear
The craftet blue cloth 28 set has some nice m.boost and is pretty cheap to make, after that the 38set, again nice m.boost, which im using even at 49 now <.>; Never saw a point in spending millions for some gold equip when you can just get 50 as easily with that set and save up the money for Fenrils/Miragents.
Ight, thanks for the tips. I tried orb and books, and I do get hella more resists w/ the orb, then again my armour is crap so it doesn't help ;x
That draconic set sounds good, but I'm afraid it probably requires one to kill a god-like mob ala FFXI or insane crafting skill <_<
Only thing that affects resist's is magic acc... and I don't think any armor (outside draedric maybe) has magic acc on it until 45+. Best bet is to socket stuff w/ magic acc stones. Miss'es don't rly affects melee as much, but resists suck for a caster. So if you prefer orbs (as I do on my sorc alt), you want to keep em up to date a bit because in grp stuff your gonna need to CC a lot.
It's one of the shitty things about caster weapons. Any melee can pick up a lv 25/35 gold/blue weapon and be set for a LONG time... while casters get SoL cause of resists. Granted ur 35 weapon will be rep'd by the lv 41 quest (when you get to finishing it)
I'd argue casters ding into more damaging skills that also allow them to attack at range, but Rangers kind of get the best of both worlds when it comes to skills and weapons.![]()
i dont even go 1v1 with a ranger or cleric i would say in most cases
unless u can like lock them down and facerape them with your dp in 5 secs
im a templar thats why i cant kill any good lvl 50s 1v1 unless the person intend to fight to his/her death
if not, almost everytime someone can run away from me
at least templars dont die in pvp and moar action for us :X
Ranger's are probably the most OP class atm because of it, level difference means retarded resists for casters (and rightly so imo) but because Rangers do physical damage, they're almost unaffected by it. Level 35's facerolling mid 40's raises a red flag, or at least it should.
(inb4 lolsm)
SMs are only OP vs tard groups.
The only thing I think is OP is the sorc 4k DP, 1 shots shouldnt be in the game in any way shape or form.
Does anyone have a handy link for Steel Rake? I went with my legion and most of us, it was our first time for it and had no idea what to do. We ended up in a room with a cat lady that nom'd our faces off and the group decided to give up before going any farther. >< Didn't even finish my quest in there.
It should, but that really is a symptom of the lol system they use for Physical Defense. Phys Defense, working the way it does, does nothing to really diminish damage done over large level differences. In PvE they use the diminishing damage system which works quite well. However, in only masks the issues that game has with defense in general.
I am sure there is a link somewhere about how to fight everyboss in SR. You could probably find more than a few videos on YouTube at this point as well. However, that being said, most every encounter in SR actually involves a little strategy, unlike most of the rest of the game. Yes, most end up being tank and spank, but move out of range when this comes, most still require you to know whats what.Does anyone have a handy link for Steel Rake? Pull the fat cat lady out into the hall you cleared to get into the bar area. She fears and can screw you very easily if she fears a party member while in an uncleared bar. Other than that, she spawns a cat pet. You can leash the pet by running to the very start of the hallway leading to the bar. You dont have to do this, but it does make the fight a bit easier on the group.
Other than that ... "Genie = clear room and use the urn", "Monkey = feed and water carefully", "Engineer = go read the post on him in Advanced theory", "Gunner = kill the tiny bombs", "Captain = have a high group with good dps or dont try".
I totally agree, however a geared ranger can practically one shot a mage every 12 seconds, as opposed to 1 an hour. Our miragent Ranger crits stunning shot for ~4k PvP; considering most MB stacked mages have barely 6k hp un-buffed, Stunning Shot > Rupture Arrow is almost a sure kill vs any mage.
They should scale the PvE formula for PvP to account for level difference. Instead of a straight Defense/10, something along the lines of (D/10)*Level Difference or whatever (im no math buff). Its silly that a decently geared 36 glad can hit a 50 mage for 700+, but a decently geared sorc or sm would get resisted completely trying to cast on anything that many levels over them.
