There is a spot up by the chaser / shammy calydons where you can glide off onto a pathway that leads into that area. If you take the bottom route to the calydons and watch the side, after you get up to the lv 49 mobs you can se the pathway. then just dodge mobs until u get to the edge and glide across. Those wind ele's are 5 star lv 50s though and i wouldn't recommend it for a melee lol

The spot you glide from is in the calydon village as shown in the map. Just glide straight across around where that broken bridge is and you'll make it over.

Thanks! Finally got over there and I guess I was a little bit cocky. xP They hurt. ; ; I'll probably go back there when I'm 46 or so or bring someone with me. xP I was trying to farm the Summon Wind 4 book for my upcoming SM. ><

I hit 46 today and wanted to start the spy quest dousing the flame for atropos's ruby necklace, 46 is the minimum level. However, I wasn't able to get the quest to activate, are there prequests to this one? Aiononline I think says Visiting the Library and The Spreading Flame of Fregion are (it puts them under related, not sure what that really means), but those aren't active either. Any ideas?

Josnack’s Dilemma is the prereq to The Spreading Flame of Fregion, which is the prereq to Visiting the Library, which is the prereq to that quest.

For the body quest? No, they're more like treasure chests.

I'm wondering in general where some of the best gear in the game comes from at 50. Basically should I give a crap about having great gear pre 50 or just wait til then to invest real time and virtual monies into it? Right now I get the impression some of the best gear is either abyss points reward, or from Dark Poeta, Miragents, or world bosses. Does that sound right?

Dark Poeta: Gold gear / weapons, dont ever anticipate getting this, its all pure luck. Like all gold gear via instances, terribad drop rate is bad. Blue gear you will acquire while doing DP, but if you go into DP in green's and quest related crap your gonna be gimp as hell and unless your a chanter ppl won't want you.

Miragents: Easy to start and get 3/5 pieces. easy to get the full set as long as the random generator favors u. If RNG hates you, you may never see the full set.

Abyss gear: Look to PvE AP once you get about 300k+ points

World Bosses: Are you Asmodian? If so, then what world bosses? If Elyos, learn the invisi bridges and hope your not on a mpk server and/or in a legion that fights them (or know of ppl who do and will invite u into their pug)

Basically, lvl 30 pvp set is your first great set.

You'll roll people w/ miragents pretty easily if your whole group has it + decent weapons yourselves.

Miragents is just a fast ( if the leg proc likes you ) way of getting ahead of the curve and having an alt set for magic resist when you have a full pvp set as well.

World boss loot: 99% trash w/ the exception of a few weapons, again it lets you get ahead of the curve before everyone has pvp weapons/armour everywhere.

Even some of the weapons are trash though, eg lvl 30-40 pvp weapons are very cheap ( 320k for the non-elite bow that has 18% atk speed and 9% damage on it ) and are basically a better weapon ( easy to +10 one of these and basically have a zapiel bow that also has 9% pvp damge ).

Is the game worth it to pick up to play as a casual player (mostly solo due to lack of time). Recently I've spent hundreds of dollars and countless downloads on other types of games trying to get away from my MMO addiction but it just isn't cutting it for me and I get bored of those other games an hour or two after having started. I figured 15 bucks a months is better than buying a gazillion games and wasting a lot of time downloading more, but I have to know if it's enjoyable to quest/lvl up/pvp at low level, since I won't be 40+ for a long time probably.

    Thanks!

You can solo forever in Aion on every class (and elite class monsters on a few classes). The game is built around working with people, but if you choose, you can do all your leveling alone. Eventually you'll want/need people to do different things with (elite areas, instances, missions, quests) but I find the game to be extremely solo friendly and, if you're coming for FFXI, very casual. Leveling isn't limited to just grinding and questing either. Gathering nets exp. Crafting nets exp. The game gives you a lot of options to stay casual and is really easy to jump into.

PVP kind of blows alone, but if you get into a decent legion you can get back up. Depending on what class you'll play you will like PVP more or less. The story and quests aren't bad and it looks great. I think the game has a lot of potential in spite of the cloud of negativity that tends to hang over the forums and if you know somebody you can get a free trial up to level 7 (which is barely enough time to even get into the basics, ha).

I usually play healers in most MMOs, but my second characters were rangers, so I'm torn on what to pick. Are good (smart) healers hard to find in this game, so will I be wanted in groups like in FFXI or is it just heal/pot spam that a 5 year old could do? And if healers are indeed good, what class should I pick?

So it seems the ridiculous government over here made it illegal to sell games that aren't translated in french, so I'll have to buy it online. While I wait, I thought of being lazy and letting BG choose the name of my character.

Most ridiculous name for a healer that won't get me banned wins!

Healers are great in Aion and usually always in demand. Clerics are great. They have pretty good armor and are a pain in the ass to kill. You can actually solo elites as a cleric. Chanter is a lot like bard mixed with monk and is really hybridized class. You don't do a ton of damage, but outfitted correctly, you can be pretty damned potent. Plus you have AoE buffs and heals so you can support/heal or support/DD. Rangers are the best class PVP by far and if you outfit it right you'll just be amazingly broken.

Clerics are less prevalent on my server or all the good clerics are just spoken for. Chanter gives you practically no down time on your own (though I run out of mana all the time as a 43 chanter).

I don't wanna be broken, because broken things get fixed (fucked in the ass) eventually. If clerics are useful in the game then I guess that'll be it for me, since intelligent healers were always hard as hell to find in any game, I felt it was the most challenging and useful thing for me to do. I bought the game on steam but it's been waiting for confirmation for like 30 minutes already so I can't even start downloading it -.-

I had a hell of a time downloading the game. A friend of mine got it for me as a birthday gift and even though I know him IRL, he made me download it. Took forever, lol.

Ranger is a good pvp class atm, clerics are way more in demand though.
Every group needs a cleric, not every group needs a ranger.

Healers are kind of lame though. You have one shield with a healing buff and 1 instant heal the rest have 1-2s cast timers on and cant be cast on the move, as well as no editable UI atm so you're stuck with the current craptastic frames ( actually I kinda like them, but for healing they suck balls ).

The game is translated into French.. soooo......

    Wins what?

I'd go for some sort of name+celebrity face model on your character for the lols.

If you're rolling euro servers then Telemachus has quite a few BGers.
Can't inv you to this legion though
