If you just want to level real quick though... don't be in the abyss. Don't know what faction you play, but yeah, if you're elyos, stick to what I mentioned earlier.

If you are in the abyss trying to level up quick you are in fact doing something horribly wrong.

I'm guessing the LC area in morheim should be the same as the one in Eltnen when it comes to mob levels.
I kill a lot of 35-45 players in Morheim's LC/MMV

Maybe better to go there and level up on soloing elites. It is really great exp.

You could kill non-elites for I don't know.. 30k a kill? Not sure what it is since I don't know what level you are, but from 34-35 on, you can do LC elites for 250k each. Within 2 minutes each.

much, much quicker than doing abyss mobs, And less chance of getting ganked.
Especially if you are Elyos.

If you jump down from Laigas and go past the two commanders guarding the path towards Penteros, you can kill assassins (lowest HP LC elites) back to back. And short off the odd sin, hardly any asmo ever comes there on my server atleast. Don't have any tips for Morheim though. I just kill asmos there -.-

250k exp in 2 mins is really bad, when I can kill 10+ abyss mobs per min for 30k each (300k+ per minute). It also means more loot, and ap from killing in the abyss. I've done elites when it was worth it (pre-1.5) for 750k+ a kill in LC, but unless I'm really mistaken (a possibility, it's been a while) elites post 1.5 give a lot less exp solo than they used to.

I've done both, and I know SB has too (we've had this debate before lol) but I'm a firm believer that speedgrind yeilds faster exp than elitegrind.

I like to solo, or low man, elites as a change of pace, not necessarily for great exp. Maybe it's because I had to wait so long for the ability to do it without a ton of meds (around 45 chanter), but I have a good time when I'm doing it. I love to duo/trio Steel Rake lower or grind there solo during double exp weekend just because I can.

I'd see that being feasible for some classes if you didn't have to ever move at all to get to the next mob and there were enough mobs in 1 area.

If I remember correctly, an LC elite gives around 10x the EXP of a normal 2-dot mob of the same level. Some classes can safely kill a single elite much quicker than they can kill 10 normal mobs (including travel time in between each one). Therefore, in terms of pure EXP gain, elites are better in those cases. Loot and AP gain on the other hand is a different story.

Unless we're pulling numbers out of our ass and going for like 30k a kill around level 30 (pretty sure you'd need rested bonus or at least an amulet), only mobs that come to mind that might allow this are baby tricos, but they're not nearly numerous enough to allow this kind of genocide while also respawning timely. There's also the matter of asmo cowards loving to gank lowbies by Asteria, there... at least on Kaisinel.

Was using his exp numbers not mine; and yes they are a little inaccurate. Tricos give what, 25k rested? More with Lodas which is a given seeing how damn many of them there are now, esp the ones for alts which can be kept up at all times.

Flame bolt, Harpoon, and that instant PB nuke are all on very short CDs, allowing you to rotate them with delayed blast/ice chain. Doesn't take much to kill tricos or the other 30ish mobs in the abyss.


And to those going on about how tedius efficient exp is, you gotta remember you're talking to someone who grinds calydons for fun. I don't play Aion much anymore since my legionmates all ragequit, so yeah a few marathon grinds every now and then really isn't bad.

My numbers were without rested/dxp/lodas/floras too.
With all those stacked you'd get roughly a mil exp/elite at lvl 38 till around level 44 after which it gets slighly less.

Another reason I went for elites is cause of the higher chance of good drops.
Well, good meaning, more kinah drops like stigmas etc.

I could be wrong about that, but I easily made 45 mil kinah just doing elites from lvl 33 to 45.

This is, ofcourse server dependant and will go to hell come 1.9.

Indratu for elites, I did the Earth Spirits at the camp by Orton Farm in Hieron. There's a nice little path there that you can run fighting level 41-42 (iirc) spirits and clodworms, mobs will repop by the time you get back to the camp. /Pathfinding Shoranarerk

Any Elyos ever gotten an Expert Orichalcum Greatsword design to drop? And if so, where? Legionmate's been itching for the design, and promised to hook me up with an HQ version. Been killing Salt Fin Cellatu since that's only "source" I've seen listed, but I doubt they're the only one.

I got that to drop a long time ago on calydons in calydon village, I don't recall which type dropped it.

EDIT: Come to think of it, it might have been from a 43-44ish elite indratu, but I did get one while grinding my ranger. I think calydons drop the level 50 weapon designs.

Technically easier to leash shit with DoTs, I guess. Would kinda blame part of it on the anti-crowd control mentality that's kinda floating around, too. "Oh, we can take multiple mobs, we have a cleric!" when part of that equation is how the rest of your party performs.
