I believe it's the same as crit strike, where 10 points = 1% chance. I haven't tested conclusively, but upon trivial observation it seemed that way to me when I was testing the spell crit damage.

And when you crit, your spell will do 1.5x normal damage, applied after MB.

that sounds kind of underwhelming. magic crits are awesome, but the amounts on the gear are so small...

what enchantment stones should i be throwing at my triroans tome to get from +5 to +10? i have like 11 75s stocked up from the event but i'm not sure they're high enough.

Why are there 2 Suntouched Polearms?

I see the one with 14% atk speed (1st link) is listed as the platinum coin award, but what about the 2nd link (19% atk speed)?

The stats of platinum coin items were adjusted in the 2.0 patch. The first link is the stats of the weapon you would get if purchased now, and the 2nd link is the stats of weapons purchased prior to 2.0 (when they cost 2,000 coins) and is no longer obtainable.

Darn, was hoping I could still get 19% atk speed now. Looks like the Expert 45 greatsword is my only real option then.

    Thanks, though.

Yeah, seems quite a bit harder to come by atk speed weapons now... No one really crafts anymore, and the coin rewards were nerfed. I camped the AH for probably about 2 weeks before I found a blue 40 expert staff and bow for my chanter/ranger alts. Seems now you basically have to hope you get lucky with a drop at 50+ from DP/Udas/BT, or catch someone selling loot rights.

You can get an 11% attack speed weapon for only like 300 coins. Better than nothing.

I'm 44 right now, and I still have the lvl 35 Expert blue polearm with 13% atk speed, which I +10'd a while back and I recently attached another blue 35 polearm to it. I was just looking ahead to see if there's anything around 45ish that has 18%+ atk speed.

Does anyone have the link handy with the spreadsheet showing all the leather armor set stats and bonuses? I know it's been posted on here a few times but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

If this is true, spell crit is greatly underwhelming. There is gear that has this stat but there's no manastone for it. Can't stack it to the 440 soft cap like you can with crit strike (to my knowledge. may be possible but I don't know, I'm only a ranger.)

I played this game during the beta for only a day and I forgot most of the stuff. I am going into this game with zero knowledge other than basic details regarding the classes. TL;DR status for me at the moment and I would like to ask some questions.

    1. Cleric is the dedicated healer right? Is there such thing as an addon on this game (if any) akin to HealBot from WoW? If not, is there anything like <stpc> from XI?
    2. Is there a dragoon type class (or spec if there's such a thing)? A class/spec that I want to avoid for endgame because it's just not good enough compared to other DPS classes?
    3. Is there a class that plays like red mage? Debuff, crowd control and what not.
    4. What's the most desired class for endgame?
    5. I understand every classes in any MMORPG is gear dependent, but which class is the least dependent?

This is all the question I have for now. Gonna continue with my research on the game. Thanks in advance!

    1. Yes Cleric is a dedicated healer. As far as I know there are no legal add-ons. So any targeting is either by mouse click or F1, F2, etc. Once in a group you can move party members in the list so you can always make like the tank F2.

    2. Dragoon? No. About the only thing remotely close is the Galdiator that uses Polearms, but they look more like Great Axes. Each class has it's strengths and weaknesses. Glads have great AoE damage and can be a tank if you can't find a Templar. Rangers and Sins have great burst damage but can get face planted pretty easy sometimes. Sorc's do good damamge and are a primary CC typically, but the role can be filled by SM's if they have half a brain. SM's have great DoT damage which can be great in longish boss fights. It would just depend on what you like. If you like Ranger types do that, if you like the Rouge/Thief Do Assassin.

    3. Sorc is your basic CC with sleeps and root and such. They can put some debuffs on. Spirit Master are amazing at debuffs and DoT damage. But none of them can heal/buff party members really. Chanter is much like Bard, you have permanent buffs you can use, you can heal (but not as good as Cleric), and you can do some pretty god damage.

    4. Basically every group/server is always looking for clerics, especially good clerics. You will make a lot of friends really quick if you're a good cleric. Chanters are usually also highly desired due to their buffs. Templars are usually wanted pretty highly as well. There are a lot of Sin/Rangers out there. Sorcerer is a distant 3rd usually on most servers as most desired. SM ususally ranks dead last as most desired. But that's usually because a lot of SM's are a dumbass and have no idea what they're doing and they let their pet aggro all kinds of shit.

I think when he mentioned DRG he was referring to them being the cheerleaders before they were buffed. There is not really a loldrg class in Aion, all of the classes are useful.

And as far as the least gear dependent, that would most definitely be cleric. A badly geared cleric heals almost as good as a well geared cleric.

Thanks for the answer guys. I was leaning toward Cleric from the beginning and your answers helped tremendously with my decision.

Reading it again yeah that sounds about right, my bad. Yeah all classes have their uses.

I think if I was just starting out again I would see the insane price of everything I would roll something everyone wants so I can level fast. Then use the 55 to level and pimp out the job I really want to play. And level them up with really nice gear. This game is extremely gear dependant. Someone with amazing gear can roll their face on a keyboard and pull out a win over someone with skill and crap gear. While clerics still need good gear they can still get by with crap and still excell. Damn near anything you get while leveling will be replaced by stuff dropped in instances 50-55.

If you want to pvp a lot I would suggest doing the leveling to 55 quick, make money and gear a low level up nicely.
