I retried uninstalling everything and downloading a new launcher thing. Went to install and got the exact same error message.

Then increase the virtual memory? >.<

If you don't know how:
"Computer" Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Advanced > Change > set it to be 1.5 your RAM.

Did you download the launcher alone and downloading game from launcher?

Or downloaded full game?

if it's #1 the problem is simple, launcher download all the files then install them after it delete the temporary files. Aka it will take about 30gig + to install from launcher then will free up about 15.

I had that problem with laptop and 25gig. I freed up to 60gig and all went fine

yeah thats exactaly what i've been doing. Where can I download just the full game? I'm trying Fileplanet now just hoping it doesn't go through the exact same stupid launcher process.

Oh god fuck this downloader. 9+ gigs AND I have to babysit it because these devs can't be assed to auto-retry when anything interrupts the download.

Fileplanet will download the full 1.0.5 game

After that you will have a 700mb patch to download from launcher but that shouldn't cause problems

Ok, just looked into Aion about a week ago. Ive gotten the 1.5.05 open beta client installed and patched, have a copy from best buy preordered. But I do have a few questions.

1. Do i need to wait for my game copy from Best Buy to be eligible for headstart...or is the pre-order key enough with the beta client download?

2. I do plan to upgrade to the CE edition for the 10 bucks through Aion's website. Should I do that before or after getting the box from Best Buy?

3. In those of you who played the beta...does it seem there was a heavy favorite class over the others? Im wanting to roll Elyos Ranger, but if there are like 1000000 of those classes compared to others id pick another.

4. If any of these were asked earlier my bad, went through the last 4 pages of the thread and didnt see anything.

If you're for sure you're going to get the CE upgrade, I'd get it now. It's just a code you enter to your acocunt. As far as should you apply that code before you get your boxed code, I dunno, I'd check with NC before you accidentally dick yourself over $10 because you used it before (the flip-side being if you wait will you get the CE stuff on your headstart chars?).

I didn't notice a mass of any one class in any of the betas, but there was generally a lack of spiritmasters it seemed.

edit: Ratatapa it is 1.5 not 1.0.5

Until I try to log in, because apparently my mouse clicks don't register. I'm running two monitors and I'm hoping that isn't the cause, and I'm hoping in case it is the cause that there's a solution beyond disabling my secondary, because this is pretty bullshit. I can type my username/password in just fine, but for some reason I can't click OK, access the settings or quit out without Alt+F4 or force quitting from task manager.

Have you ever logged in and played before? (CB or OB?) If so, were you using a different monitor than you are now?

I know Aion does weird things like that when you change resolutions, the auto-sizing glitches out where you can click the buttons, they just don't match up with their position on screen.

It turns out I lose all input responsiveness after hitting ENTER when trying to log in. At which point the game stops doing anything for 90 seconds then disconnects me and quits out.

This is awesome, 70 seconds to just get to the login screen, 90 seconds waiting for a 'haha you're disconnected' message, and the cycle begins anew. It won't even tell me if I'm doing anything wrong.

So far not a good first impression. This interface design seems taken directly from Steam 1.0

And since I have to ask, how the fuck do I get it to stop opening up a new browser tab with aion's website every time it quits out?

Guess it was sheer ignorance on my part, I thought I could at least see a realm list or something. The silent failures + unresponsive UI are not a good way to greet a user who spent 12+ hours downloading the client, I guess.

It does take forever to load for some people, and the way it handles errors like being unable to connect is far from graceful. I'm lucky in that it's only about 15 seconds to get to the login screen. I always get an error to pop up one way or the other when something is wrong, but if you alt tab you won't see it most of the time.
