Oh god I hope the Infinite Dragonflight thing dies...I never really liked their lack of sense in the greater parts of the lore. No reason for the Bronze Dragonflight to send folks back to Hyjal other than 'just do it!' Even if he has noble intentions "I'm just trying to stop Cataclysm!" having another dragonflight go nuts is just a little Oh Not This Shit Again, Blizzard.

Erf, yeah you're right it was. And I don't really disagree on the notion of "Not this shit again", just mentioning it as an ongoing issue that could be used for plot device.

Anyway one more day. Any last speculations/thoughts/hopes/dreams for the expansion before it's laid out before us tomorrow?

I've come to the conclusion that "Cataclysm" = Azshara's shit all rising up from the Maelstrom.

Sargeras, or at least a partial version like KJ should be the final boss of expansion.


I'm kind of thinking it won't be Thrall that gets saved by goblins. I think the way the kid fits in has something to do with getting Malfurion un-trapped, so I'm guessing it's him that will get fucked with, and the goblins will save him, and then need protection, which the Alliance can't very well offer to the ones spread all over Kalimdor.

I don't know guys. I've never read a comic book in any series that's ever been released where they decided to rewrite a story/character/land/legend before. I swear its never, ever happened.

This makes sense. The fact that Azshara would rise out of the Maelstrom would seriously displace shitloads of water, causing all kinds of major landscape changes (Thousand Needles flooded comes to mind).

Thousand needles getting fllooded would be visually awesome, ots of little islands from the mesa's and shit.

If they flooded it all the way to the tops of the mesa's they'd have a hell of a time keeping that much water from flooding Eastern Feralas and a good portion of Tanaris. To localize the damage entirely to 1k Needles they'd need some serious topography changes to adjacent zones anyway.

Anything that involves deep sea shit is NO. I remember doing the Aquatic Form quest. God, I was scared that some giant sea monster was gonna come out and kill me.

my main problem with swimming was that it was really slow... other than that i wouldn't mind underwater areas.

And iirc in one of the books (i think) it said that Azshara wanted to raise Nazjatar out of the maelstrom so we might get lucky and there would only be a few underwater areas.

You also can't eat to recover HP and after ~3 minutes you have to surface for air. Any extended swimming quests put into WotLK gave you free water breathing buffs/items but the swim speed/HP recovery problems remain.

They did say there's going to be underwater zones, I can see the whole top half of 1k needles being underwater, and the mountains containing it somewhat.


And judging by the underwater zones thing, I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that some kind of underwater mount will be cataclysm's gold sink.


And... uh... how does the "confirmed" going from 90% *up* to 99.9% = thinking he was wrong >.>

After you finally complete the quest chain you gain access to Nazjatar, which is an ancient underwater city located within the maelstrom. Inside Nazjatar players will find many rewarding boss fights, which will eventually lead up to a battle against Azshara, or AZ for short.

AZ will be pretty much impossible and despite the player's cries for help blizzard will turn a blind eye and reply "Working as intended".I can taste it already!

I didn't know there was that much lore behind the stuff in WoW, at least not enough for people like Eternity to get so upset over some races having new classes, lol.

Arv's new avatar is fucking amazing.

I'm very interested to see what Blizzard does, the underwater idea somebody mentioned seems like a really cool idea actually. At level 85 you'd hope you saved 12k gold for your Submarine. new races is the biggest thing though, I can't wait to hear information on that.
