The only thing that disappoints me is that they're permanently removing the old Azeroth whether you're leveling a new character or an old character. I was hoping they would utilize phasing, but I guess that's not happening.

On the other hand, this means they finally fix the old-world geometry problems. Which means voila, we can fly around "old world" areas as well.

1:22PM Egypt was inspiration for Uldum. River running down the center, dotted with temples. Shoreline change explained by Titan machine projecting an illusion of shoreline to keep people out. Cataclysm broke the machine. For serious.

I really can't stand Blizzard attitude to have players do everything all over again...
Part of a MMO addiction is growing attached to your own character and taking him/her around instances, raids, content etc

They have this trend of adding new stuff each expansion that's always interesting, well done and surely tempting...and have you toss your old character for good.

First Drenai, then Death Knight class and now Worgen.. sigh... I can't but praise their ideas and skills in creating those but, each time it's one old character going down the sink.

I was discussing that with a friend, and we think that won't happen.
Really, it'd feel quite odd to have a Worgen Warrior lv80 the day the expansion hits just because someone faction changed into it.
But anyone, that's speculation

this is not playing longer, it's playing again. there's a huge difference in that because it trashes all of the emotional attachments to my character.
I think they really need work on something to make your own progress "tradeable" within characters.
Once I got my Netherdrake and experienced the whole questline, what amusement can there be to do it all over again with my Worgen / DK / Bloodelf?

Well, it makes sense really. The horde vs alliance thing only exists because Thrall is a peaceful orc. Without him around, we're just going to tear the alliance apart...

Besides that, I think I can come to peace with cataclysm. Talking about wow lore so much actually got me interested in the game again haha, I think I'm going to resub tonight.

There needs to be equilibrium for the sake of realm pop balance. Give too much to the horde and pvp stops being fun, guild recruitment begins to rot, etc. etc. The Alliance also isn't just going to roll over and die.

Honestly after leveling Alliance then leveling a Horde the vast majority of Horde towns sucked before BC (not really in Northrend areas yet). Always way on the end of the map in some corner and just overall inconvenient. They need more flight paths and territory.

Anyway...PUPPIES YAY. And so many classes I like! Which do I choose...?_?
