Well I'm excited, only hoping that Warrior has more of a role in....well almost everything, plate-wearing melee needs some serious lovin' in GW right now.
I was excited for this 2 years ago, hopefully this won't be too dissapointing.
If it stays free to play, I will definitely pick it up. It's the main reason why I got the original 4 games, because I can pick them up whenever I'm in the mood to play them and not have to worry about subscription fees.
Wow, about time. Been looking forward to new GW2 info for months now.
I haven't been on GW for the longest time. I remember my warrior being pretty awesome at PvE and decent at PvP if I tried. Did they have some major update or something?
Also, last I read about GW2, it seems pretty awesome. I just hope its not all instanced like the first one.
Might be interesting if the give Warrior a larger role. (like mentioned above) If they make PVE more interesting too, I might be sold.
The game basically revolves around Monks (still), Permaform Assassins (constant Shadowform), and Necros, for PvE anyway. Classes do better damage than warriors, monks/sins tank better, and now Dervs are better runners.
PvP it's just too easy to shutdown a warrior for a while, i run just about everything (hammer/axe/sword) and I get shutdown by everyone in about a second of them seeing I'm there, about the only time i feel useful is the other team(s) leave me unchecked and I get a knocklock on their monk, but 95% of monks have a shadowstep, or knockdown prevention, or guardian (50% block). I dunno, except for the noob PvP it's just too hard to be useful compared to other classes, and PvE everything outdoes me in one role or another D=
tldr; QQ warriors are inferior now
although, they're easily the sexiest looking class.

Awesome, thanks for the post! I know the game isnt projected to come out till late 2010 at best, but its nice to see some fruits from the efforts of ArenaNet. Unlike "rapture" which was undercover for so long and no one really knew what/when to expexct it, GW2 has had a focus of attention for a long time now. Hoping for more solid info to come.
I meant that years ago, ArenaNet said they were starting to make their next game called GW2. SE told us about a project called "Rapture" years ago and no one knew if it was going to be Final Fantasy releated, set in similar settings, a sequal etc. I see what you are saying about the tech demo from a while back though. Perhaps I wasnt clear on stating my opinion. Anyway, no big deal
I haven't played in forever. Every time I start back up I try to make a survivor Dervish just to mess up on something stupid. I haven't really touched my warrior after getting every mission and bonus done in PvE. I had a minion master necromancer I played around with, but got into arena battles for a long time.
That demo looks really awesome though. I like how some of the areas in GW look, they're pretty nice, if not really big. Pre-searing was fun to run around during. This game is supposed to be a couple hundred years after GW right?
As much as I love GW, I really hope they change up the PvE so we don't end up with any permas, other gimmicky farming type builds. GW was always great about changing up the PvP to stay balanced based on current builds, and I would like to see them make a move to keep PvE played in the same fashion (i.e. the way it was designed to be played, not finding loopholes in the system).
Looks amazing though, I really loved their D2 feel (obvious reasons) to GW1, and from the looks of that trailer GW2 will certainly keep the feel of Diablo, but taking it to a more epic scale.

amazing. races sounds...ok, although i'll admit i hope it's more a storyline based change rather than a stat-heavy change (looking at you PvP and min-maxing, hate playing races i hate simply because they're 'better'), and the way they describe everything sounds great...although some of it a bit hard to pull off in actuality, but here's to hoping!

Go manly-way DoA or FoW or do any kind of PVP, they are still used. Shock-axe, fagsword, earthshaker warrior, HB warrior primal rage warriors etc. Warrior can do plenty of stuff. Its mainly good for PVP in which you are WRONG that they cant do a lot of damage. Hit my up ingame.

I didn't say they can't do a lot of damage (or didn't mean it anyway, too lazy to go reread), mostly meant that I'm easy as fuck to shutdown and everyone has an easy way to counter me in PvP. I love going unchecked but there's usually 10 spells/abilities the other team has (in RA) specifically designed to make me absolutely useless. Good monks can counter this of course, as can a well timed KD chain. I just find doing damage as a ranger or nuker easier and a lot less hassle to actually be consistent with damage.
Love warrior though, won't drop that class for anything.
