so... i wonder what procedure they go through when they go about banning someone. it seems anyone can be a target if they are at the wrong place and the wrong time, even when their innocent.
but i guessed they weren't unified since the salvage bans. i always wondered how someone who got like 6 pieces of completed gear would get a temp (some untouched) while me and a few others who got 1 35 (machas cuff for the lvl 37 rdm) get a perm lol. they obviously didnt talk about it. it was an automated thing i guess.
oh wellz. i lost some weight since than, and im benching 370 now :D i had fun while it lasted and its not like i had any intention of RMT'ing rich off anyways.
im glad you guys at least got her account backand nice writeup! this is one of the few STF threads i respect.
Like every other successful company, SE cares more about the bottom line than their customers, so they try and minimize costs by hiring an insufficient number of underskilled/undertrained people. I don't know what GMs are paid, but it is probably a little above the average bilingual customer service rep (minimum job requirements?) and significantly below the average bilingual computer technician with people skills (what often seems to be requested).
You could argue that SE is eliminating hardcore players so they'll go to FFXIV, but that doesn't really hold much water. Most people will probably switch over when it is released anyway, and by kicking players off with a year until release they'd risk other them switching to other MMOs (Aion, WoW, etc.).
Welcome folks, to yet another "Why in the world would you want to play FFXIV" moment.
Again, I will be playing FFXI till it dies because all of the time I've put into it, and all of the friends I have made. But there is no way in the deepest levels of hell that I will play FFXIV, because it is infinitely clear that Square Enix has learned absolutely nothing from FFXI, and will continue this level of piss poor service.
You reading this SE? Do you understand how much your own community hates you? Do you even fucking care anymore?
Even stay at home parents need to be role models and play video games without cheating (And spending $1000 of their husband's money). I can't wait to get flamed for this.
This isnt entirely true considering we've invested lots of time and money in our FFXI characters. FFXIV is going to be a clean slate on our end, without any bonuses based on what you've done in FFXI. To SE, our FFXIV accounts are going to be blank, they dont care who WyldFyre is, what he's done, if he's cheated, if he was responsible for putting 15$ in their pocket per month, or 60$, none of that matters. However, on our end, we know who SE is, what SE has done in regards to its playerbase, and will continue to do.
Simple, just don't cheat and you won't get bann- OH WAIT
Either they're not banning enough RMT every month (Give us more automation!), or they're banning plenty of RMT and a few regular players with them (Get rid of the automation and look at every account!). Make up your god damned minds.
From what I can infer, the person who got banned was gardening on a shit ton of mules. What group of players tends to use this tactic to make quick gil? RMT. Do regular players use this? Yes. Do regular players have keyboard-smashed names and Fishbot? Yes. So how the hell is a computer program supposed to tell the two apart?
Letter from William Whatshisface aside, the appeals process is what needs to be fixed. Some Chinese speaking RMT is not going to be able to appeal their ban for shit. An American housewife with a 5-year account history, is. Fix that and we'll have a pretty damn functional system.
Yep, grade A pristine SE-borne sarcasm.
I think most of the SE staff just hates people, not so much their job. Think about gamers in general, the kind of people who seek out these jobs: pretty anti-social, many think they're above others and their intellect is higher because they can work a computer, and they're very quick to look down on people who need help with anything, be it something within the caller's power to control or not.
Honestly I'd love a job at SE, but I don't live in California. I, however, would actually give a shit and probably give pretty good service (or else be like GM Dave...) Sooo anyone in Cali need a roommate?
:D
I was hoping someone would catch on to that.
Same deal.
