Persona 3 Port for PSP

They won't because they will do P4 afterward, it's inevitable and obvious. Another thing I noticed is that these new ideas added were taken directly from the Atlus USA forums, the P3/P4 sections. Those fans are just.. wow. The threads they make are almost on a level of gamefaqs, if they are actually taking the suggestions they produce.. then the SMT franchise is fucked.

The idea of letting the player chose between a male and female protagonist was present in the early stages of P3 development (some concept arts in the artbook).
Strange Journey is obviously catering more to people who appreciate old-school SMT, it's proof enough that the franchise isn't fucked. Also the fact that they bothered with making a Raidou 2 and porting P1. They still care about their more "obscure" stuff, we're not talking about SE (yet...)
(also, dunno about P4, but P3 didn't sell as much as Nocturne in Japan).

But maybe i'm just naive and too confident ;x

They lost a LOT of money during the development of SMT: Imagine because they paid out a lot the money they needed to save for a rainy day just for CAVE to make it.

P2 IS and EP both had great reception in Japan, EP also got great reviews here in the US so I really do not see the problem. It has the Persona name, all Atlus has to do is slap the SMT logo on it like everything else and people will buy it once they realize it has even more animu appeal than the original Persona. Kawaii desu :3.

I still can't help but feel Atlus is kicking dirt in the face of it's veteran fans, they blatantly skipped the games, how is anyone who is a fan of the series not outraged they will be missing out?

I'm excited for Strange Journey and all but I feel the DS release is a bit of wasted potential. Well it won't be too bad because it uses the same game engine Etrian Odyssey used and that game is amazing.

New games? LOL this is the third fucking time Persona 3 will be released. Innocent Sin never saw the light of day in the US. But nevermind, of course you won't understand so I will just leave it at that.

As for P3 PSP, day never. A lot of veteran fans agree with me on the redundancy of this so I am glad I am not fucking going insane thinking I am the only one who hates this shit.

It's not like releasing Persona 3 on the PSP hurts you in anyway, it's just another game that Atlus are bringing out. But hey, you'll probably complain about the next thing Atlus does, and the next thing until they finally give you what you want. Then you'll complain that it's nothing like the old games.

To be honest the port of P1 doesn't really bring anything new. It's nice for us non-japanese gamers because we are finally getting the full, properly translated game, but in the case of P2, a lazy port like this wouldn't have much of a point since both parts are already translated (and playable on the PSP - it appears i was wrong, they're supported by the emulator now). At best we might be missing out on a few half assed bonus dungeons and a new animu opening.

I'd rather have a translated port of Soul Hackers, or the forgotten NES games i've never played, or Majin Tensei 1+2 DS, but that's not gonna happen.

Beside, nothing Aegis say/do in the answer tops anything in the journey's final scenes anyway.

Best part is when you finally succeed, you realize you're owning everything in the game and didn't need such overpowered Persona. The fusion system need to be reworked greatly, it's one of the most annoying aspect of P3/p4.

I also hated getting "1 of each" persona. Unless you're using a faqs, it can be pretty annoying to find which fusion you're missing.
