So, this came out yesterday. Picked it up and enjoying it so far. They added a lot of the things they added to persona 4 to this so it is a lot more fun to play (multiple save points, quick move, control pt members, ect). My only grip with the game so far is that they removed the anime opening and that was one of the best things about persona 3 (and they killed when you first summon Orpheus with bad in game cg)...

Yeah, a lot of the scenes suffered in this version so that they could fit it.

    Spoiler: show
Like the scene where Chidori dies. You can find it on youtube, but basically they just show the entrance to the Tartarus (where your fight takes place) and then everything else is just sound effects.

Game is pissing me off. I never played P3 before but are you supposed to grind off of shit that barely gives beyond 30+ xp? I don't mind grinding but this is annoying.

I hate that it's game over if the MC dies, and I had this happen a LOT because of bullshit.

Was doing the bosses to save Fuuka and I died right as it began on my first try. I'm lv10~12 group attempting this on male MC normal mode.

Typical persona 3 rage? I mad.

Yeah, Persona games are known to be pretty fucked up when it comes to instant-kill moves and MC (fucking hated a certain boss fight on P4 cause he would use that shit on me when he was below 10% to kill MC.)

Anyways, when it comes to leveling up, a pretty good thing to follow (it works for me, at least) is to kill everything you see on your way up the Tartarus till you reach the gate. You can get away with skipping a few of the respawns if you feel the exp is low, but this should make you strong enough to beat the bosses for that month.

You can reach the gate in 2 days. 1 once you start getting the hang of when your members are gonna get tired and going back to the 1st floor to refill your HP/SP just before that happens.

Except those rules goes out the window in P3P. You no longer get tired in Tartarus until after you leave. Also, HP/SP do not refill upon return to 1st floor. You heal at the clock, similar to the Fox in P4.

I did 2-16 in one night, farming the shit out of the floors for cash and Personas. I had a good number of my S-Links set up right off the bat.

    Couple tips for you then:

The game is purely about exploiting weaknesses. If bosses don't have weaknesses you exploit the shit out of crit +. Right now my MC has a + crit (high) weapon and when i stack it with rebellion she crits literally every attack. Then it depends on the boss if you wana all out or hit is again to make it dizzy and loose a turn. Example: there is a mini boss that only uses very high damage thunder attacks, so i made a thunder nul persona and just took akihiko with me, fight took 10 min but i was in 0 danger.

Keep a dark null persona for all the instant kill shadows. Later in the game you can farm homunculus and not worry about it. but, until then just switch to the dark null when you fight stuff that spams death. (I use dark rider currently)

Good general game plan is save b4 every boss > test all weaknesses > see what stupid shit it dose > take the loss if it happens > fuse personas to kick the bosses ass knowing what it will put out. Also as a general rule the mini bosses in the tower are harder then the full moon bosses for that cycle.

My general game plan is to climb to the top of the tower for that phase in 1 day. spend as little days in the tower as possible so i can get my social stats up rather then farm the tower. I don't try to farm levels unless i am close to ending in a persona capacity up (10>20>30>ect)

The game can be hard as fuck but that's why a lot of us like it. That and every time you play the game it is a bit different cause you use different personas.

A good tip for leveling up is to always have an All-In attack or your main character do the final blow. That way you'll get to Shuffle, and there's a good chance for the exp bonus card (the green card with leaves and stuff) to show up. Unless you need new personas, always go for the exp cards.

Thinking about getting this, but can it be played on CFW yet? Also if I haven't played P3 yet should I play this version or the ps2?

P3: FES is probably a better option unless you want to play as the female, or really want something portable.

Works on M33-6, you would just need to patch it with ISOTool first. I have seen versions that work on 5.50 GenD-3, and 5.03 GenC as well.

Should also work on Prometheus w/o any patches.

Unless you have not seen the anime cut scenes i would highly suggest P3P. beging able to control your PT members makes the game so much better then praying the shifty AI dose not screw you over. That and i just did a P4 cameo and had a bunch of laughs (very similar to P4 where you go to the city in P3)

this game is really easy since on the beginning when fatigue doesnt come into exploration, you can clear each session of tartarus in one sitting, as opposed to 2-3 in the PS2 version (or more at the beginning, fuck fatigues)

not to mention the skill card system allow you to make a 4 element persona rather easily, and full control over the AI allowing you secondary access to items (not that you really need it, since getting knocked on your asses is of the minimal consequences on P4's system) for healing, support, and knocking shit down with elemental gems.

Persona 3 rage is getting everyone of your party tired out while grinding single digit exp when you started off in the game, then getting brutally murdered seconds before reaching the checkpoint, compared to that this game's lack of fatigue on exploration, and floor by floor checkpoint on the main entrance is just peachy. Just get great condition prior to tartarus exploration by sleeping early/in class, and you'll have a breeze in the exploration

    Did they mess up the fusion tables? I for the life of me can not make a Nata Taishi to fuse Alice..... I desperately want some "die for me" farming action for my MC ; ;
