I do not know about the timing per-say but I really want to see the new movie based more on the original. And from all that I have read it is two years out so maybe it wont steep on the new BSG's toes so much.

Olmos already has a script written for another tv movie, whoever they get will not compare to the new Adama or Starbuck, Caprica is going to cause Ron Moore's presence at SDCC yearly which will only serve to remind the plethora of fans of the new series who never cared for the original that this shit will pale in comparison and to avoid it.
