What do PLDs merit for Group 1 and 2?

Sentinel and either Rampart or Shield Bash. Rampart is better for non-Aegis PLDs, I'd think.
For group 2 opinions are pretty mixed. Personally, I did 5 Chivalry due to lots of /RDM solo, and mainly low man stuff; even then it doesn't see a ton of use. If you only pull PLD out in situations where you'll have ample support, Chivalry will probably be wasted.
For the others, I did 1 Fealty, 4 Guardian. Fealty for the odd situational uses that pop up, i.e. you know you're going to eat a mijin soon, etc. Guardian goes hand in hand with Sentinel merits, I think with 4 Guardian, you retain ~1332 VE during Sentinel that would decay naturally, so it's like an extra weaker Flash.

If someone else has input, I'd like to hear it. Always needs to do better on PLD

I think 5/5 Sentinel is a no-brainer.

I did 5/5 Shield Bash, non-Aegis PLD here.

I prefer it over Rampart since it's more VE if your Rampart can't hit everyone in the PT. We do a lot of fights where only me and the other tank are in range to get hit by it most of the time.

It's also a free Stun if something isn't getting Stunned (I know, relying on the PLD to stun shouldn't ever be the case but shit happens, it's only come down to that once or twice but I was glad I was able to on those occasions)

For Cat 2 I'm currently 5 Chivalry, 1 Fealty, 4 Guardian. I solo a lot so capped Chivalry comes in handy. Fealty I love but I don't find that I need to ride the timer all that often, in most situations. (There are a few I'd like it capped but I hate to ditch Guardian or Chivalry)

I'm starting to play more again now that the summer is over. Both the LS's I used to do events with have broken and I've already done too much Limbus/Nyzul Isle/Ouryu/B2. It feels like time for something new.

I don't usually run more than a few events a week, and am currently choosing two from Einherjar, Sky, Sea, or Salvage. What do you folks think are the most enjoyable two events from that list?

Also, what's the best way to find a good group for each, other than joining an HNM shell or going with friends (most of mine have now quit)? I'm a career BRD with good rep and good gear and merits (Singing + Wind 520, manteel etc).

There are shells on some servers dedicated to certain events, you'll have to find one that fits for you, or start your own. As a bard it probably wouldn't be too hard for you to get into one.

As for which is most fun... if you don't mind the horrible drop rates, I always enjoyed Salvage. Einherjar is good too because there is actually a work:reward ratio (kinda) lol.

If I had to pick two, it'd be Salvage and Sky because Sky can provide income and Salvage provides some of the best gear in the game across the board.

It all comes down to your own personal choices and time frame, but I would say Einherjar and Sea from those options.

Einherjar is short, fun, and pretty simple to get done. Rewards are nearly promised from Ampoules, along with whatever drops from the chests.

Sea would be somewhat the opposite. No time limit/restriction, more open area, and kinda fun. I don't know >_> for some distorted reason I enjoy sea, even though I have no drops to show for it. xD

I really enjoy Salvage, actually, and everyone wants a BRD for it. A good BRD can make a big difference, too...I avoid going BRD to most things these days, because of years of that being my only 75, and I feel I'm a bigger asset on other jobs. But I still go BRD to Salvage most of the time, because it's easy for me to control the speed and flow of the run. You want to be aggressive (as long as your group can handle it, which hopefully is the case).

The other thing about Salvage is that you'll probably have little competition for most Marduk gear (and Skadi feet for BST). At least in my experience, Usukane/Morrigan/Ares are far more popular sets. Every bit can be useful on BRD, which is nice.

I think Einherjar is fun too, and as that's an event where it really helps to bring 36 people, as opposed to Salvage where you want more like 6-8, it should hopefully be easy for you to find a group for that too. And you'll be busy, particularly if your group does BRD rotation. Plenty of variety too.

Things like these have been answered a numerous amount of time, check the What's better / Randomer Question threads, or ask in both of them and people will help most likley.
