Have you tested Mahatma vs. Blessed +1? The reason I included them despite the -VIT was because I recall my friend testing the difference between Mahatma and Jets a while ago and he said Mahatma actually came out on top. Could be mistaken, though.

I guess I'll try for two sets of gears. One with full enmity reduction and one with Fast Cast/Haste. I personally prefer the latter (I have angst against waiting for spells to cast/finish recasting), but if enmity reduction demonstrates better results, I'll accept that.

Using Furen's FFXI Cure Calculator

Plugged in the gear you posted, using the stats of a taru WHM75/SCH37 with blessed+1 and mahatma slops, and got the following results:

Cure V:
Blessed+1 - 915
Mahatma - 915

With MND+5 merits...

Blessed+1 - 919
Mahatma - 917

I haven't, but it ends up just being more of a space thing again for me, honestly. Plus I would rather have the haste and such as well - hopefully one doesn't have to use Cure V that often that quickly, but ya never know.

In any case, it's nice to have a discussion with other people who have given WHM some actual thought (though this was originally about SCH and I apologize we hijacked this ). Just so many people still see WHM as a throwaway and I want to throttle most of them

As to the neck piece - I use my Nodowa in my standing set but if I want MP I just throw on the Grandiose. I can't remember when I last actually bothered equipping for MP - my first spell cast and it's wasted. I did used to have that Medal though, once upon a time. Once upon a time when WHMs were forced to stand in outside parties for alliances...

That being said, I have a random question for my fellow serious WHMs, since we're in the random question thread Does it bug anyone else when RDMs are all 'I GOT THIS PERSON AND THIS PERSON FOR HASTE,' (in my exp they always call the tanks), when really you are perfectly capable of handing a full haste cycle yourself? It's not like I really should have all that much else to do, esp if things are going well. Big whoop, you're a great RDM, you can stare at Yarnball. I dunno, I just always figured RDMs had so much other stuff to do and really should be paying attention to.

For that matter, I'm about ready to insist RDMs with me sub BLM so they stop wasting my and their MP -na'ing all the same people I do.

I agree though, if there's both a rdm and a whm present, the rdm handles refresh cycle and the whm does haste cycle. Only fair.

Ugh, Overcures drive me nuts too. Cure II, Regen.... and they wait til AFTER the regen and they're like.. CURE III I WILL SAVE YOU.

My favorite are the healers who really don't pay enough attn or work with their tanks much/enough - PLD drops to yellow for their Cure IV macro and the healer cures 'em up before their cure can go off... i know a few tanks who get very pissy about that! haha

Working on "An Errand! The Professor's Price" and just got orb of coins (magic) first. I'm on blm/rdm, so the question is can I safetly -ga 20 of these down at once without getting beat down to death or should I farm a couple more key items before popping them?

1.Has anyone ever confirmed whether or not base stats affect the magic accuracy of blue magic nukes, and not just the fINT/MND/CHR and secondary mods?

Back when the restrictions for entering Odin's chamber were harsh, there was a permanent key item reward for killing Odin. Has this been removed from the game entirely?

I used Benign Necklace before Medal came out, but I had to camp the fucking AH literally for months since no one does the BCNM it drops from... seriously, there must be fewer Benign Necklaces per server than completed Salvage sets.

I couldn't agree more on the over-curing issue... nothing raises my blood pressure in this game more than being stuck in a party with some eager-beaver RDM who apparently has all my actions filtered. Oh, the WHM's been Hasting the tanks for the past ten minutes, I guess that means I should too! Oh, the tank went into red and the WHM just dropped a Cure V in the time it took me to realise, I guess I should cast Cure IV now that he's back at 95% HP just to let him know I care! Oh, the WHM just cast Regen III on this guy who's at 60% whilst we're all stood around, guess that means I should follow suit and Cure IV him!

Fucking rage.

Thanks, I looked up the name and I think I get it now. It looks like I will receive this key item once I have cleared each chamber at least once. There is one chamber I've never gotten a clear on.

You have to possess all the feathers at the same time. Basically you'll only have it if you got to Odin pre-patch or if you're a feather mule for your LS (or attended every run on your LS's first climb to Odin).

Hey i have a random question. i have had horrible luck with swift belt nm im 0/26 now and was wondering what other belt i should use at 75 to tp in for SAM WAR THF DRK mainly out of my DD jobs. another question would quick belt be an option?

hidden effect : attack caps at 85 when eaten in a party of 4 or more. The effect does not wear off upon disbanding.

Yellow curry has a hidden effect while eaten in a party of more than 4. The attack cap is then 85 instead of 75. Pchan 22:45, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

You should keep trying for a Swift Belt but when all else fails, Quick Belt would be the next best choice I guess.
