Nice to see WHM discussions. As for SCH I pile on the -ENM there tool. I found a use for that pair of hydra brais I had sitting in my mog house forever..
My fury at the inability of RDMs to read when I've just slung up a Regen II or III and they immediately cure 3 is legendary in my shell. And my assumption has always been that WHMs haste people unless you're going to a super hectic event where you might ask a RDM to haste someone. Usually they're too busy. I'm very proprietary about tanks lol...
Oh and drwaffles, you were right about my precious goliard hat - I never use it now![]()
Getting the Muse Tariqah to drop was the easy part for me...it's camping the AH for that damn Templar Mace that's the problem. Once I finish Kupo and my last 2 Maat jobs, I might just have to try and get a group to go kill the NM. A mace goes up like maybe once every few weeks, and I miss it every time. The one time I saw one up, I couldn't buy it for like 2.5x the going rate. I only use WHM for RvB and a few random things, but I still obsess over the gear...not enough to reward a jackass, though.
Tried searching for the answer to my question, but search gives me crappy results if I try to search for multiple words so I was only able to find 1 good thread which was inconclusive.
http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/42054...-question.html
Question is about Khimaira's spawn time after maintenance.
Closing after 36 hours seems to be agreed on.
But does it open after 12 hours or after 24?
And can it spawn before Cerberus? What I've read is either at the same time or after only.
Thanks and sorry if this was answered and I couldn't find it.
I've found two different replies to this question in not-this thread...
Barrage, AF+1 hands when firing? or when using?
Elementals in Temenos East are sleepable, avatars are easy enough if you barspell and spam nuke it down, me and two blms went in and got to 2nd floor easily enough, didn't get any time chests or we could've gone longer easily
Assuming Central 2 would be same deal, boss in central 2 might be bothersome
Because it's so onerous and expensive to check for yourself that the attack bonus is higher than reported (assuming you satisfy the attack "cap") when you eat one in the presence of 3+ other party members in the same zone as you.
Really, the hidden group effects of curries seem to have been known for some time among Japanese sources, based on wiki.ffo.jp and the like. "We" were just completely oblivious to it, infinitesimally less so post-buns.
March/March/Ballad/Madrigal are ideal PLD songs yes?
Running with a bard I will pick double march more often than not. With a second, madrigal and ballad are ideal for most mobs, yeah.
While I don't have SCH leveled, I have always been an advocate of capping -enmity (or as close as possible. iirc, Kaeko once posted a capped -enmity cure build on his LJ so you could check there) for any and all SCH cures. MP gear is dead weight after you use it up, so while it is OK to start in MP gear (Generally for, say, buffs) moving quickly to -enmity gear will net a better over all performance.
As far as the ratio of to reach the caps, as long as you're capped on healing magic skill on SCH (light arts up or otherwise) you should hit the soft cap on cures without any gear. Remember, the formula is
((((((3*MND) + VIT + (Healing Skill / 5)) / 2) / rate) + constant)*Day
or to make it more readable assuming (3 * MND) + VIT + (Healing Skill / 5)) = Power
( ( (Power/2) / Rate) + Constant) * Day
There, that's more readable no? Rate refers to a modifier specific to each cure spell (for a full list, check either BGWiki or Furen's cure guide) which decrees as the cure level goes up (i.e. rate for cure 1 is 57 while cure V is 2.8ish). This number limits the amount your cure grows in relation to the increase in stats. The constant is an additional modifier specific to each cure (once again, for numbers check wiki or Furen) and grows larger as the cure level goes up.
In general, you can make the claim that 1 MND is worth 3 VIT is worth 5 Healing Magic Skill, but it doesn't work out that way all the time. However, it does allow one to make a general assumption about how to gear in relation to those stats.
Sweet, that's the formula I was looking for. I've been wanting to try a Fast Cast/Haste set (Also wanted MP set since I'm Elvaan, but the macro process on PS2 is too much to deal with at the moment) for situations where mobs are dying too fast to worry about enmity (Or when the tank is very good).
So I was attempting to fish up some mantas to try and get an angel skin for fun with a friend the other day and followed all the different advice I could find on Wiki and other sources and was unable to fish in the manta without running out of time reeling it in. I was wondering what I needed to actually pull it in. Does the rod I use change things? The fact that I have 3 skill in Fishing? Any advice would be nice.
Fast Cast is always a bonus, and normally I'd say something about using spellcast or windower macros to swap in fast cast >> -enmity, but if you're on PS2 than its moot. Haste is also nice, but less important on cures than fast cast, -enmity, MND, or (race depending) HP.
And again, fore go the use of MP gear for anything but a max MP set for buffing. After that point straight MP+ gear is only -inventory. Having things like W. Turban on you which can multitask as HP/MP/Haste gear is fine, but unless you have a ton of inventory space (I'm not sure how into the job you are, but I know on my WHM I'm more or less full inventory wise) don't bother bringing MP gear that can't double for other purposes. Goliard and Cobra gear (looking at YOU feet and legs) are the perfect example of multipurpose gear. Solid idle pieces for Sublimation (between legs/feet and goli body you get 89 HP/MP), the converse MP makes them ideal for casting buffs such as AoE Protect/Shell/Weather, and goliard body provides haste as well.
At this point, I'm fairly sure I'm rambling on about things you already know, but I figured I'd throw those out there. Best of luck with your SCH!
Looking for some parses/blogs on DD PLD while xping. Interested mostly in what the party setup was and which eq/food was used~ Not interested in PL'd pts, or sub-50 sync'd parties~
2 Questions:
1) I'm in a process installing FF11 on my laptop; which .dat is the one that stores all the macros?
2) Can one learn blu magic even the monster does ws on people not in alliance/pt? (No, I'm not talking about dynamis/einherjar stuffs), e.g. I'm trying to learn Pinecomb Bomb, but my PL (which is not in my pt/alliance) keeps stealing hate and those monsters would do Pinecomb Bomb on PL instead.
