taking nirvana's +30 acc into account, what would be the best general smn/sam melee setup, without sacrificing too much -perp. i'm thinking, offhand, that nashira pieces would be useful for haste, swift belt, ruby earrings from acp7, acc ring from acp 11 or rajas, chiv chain, rose strap, white tathlum.

speaking of storetp gear, not counting /sam, smn can get ~+14 storetp, is it worth it to get that much?

With Nirvana, +8 Store TP will get you a 9-hit, +22 for an 8-hit, so drop 6 and no /sam for a 9-hit no sam, or drop 7 (15+14=29-22=7) with /sam for an 8 hit

Can anyone suggest a decent starter kit for Y/G/K for a fresh 75 (70 atm and hoping to finish up in the next week or two)? Focusing mainly on AH-able stuff for the moment, looking for maybe ~2-3M worth of gear to start. If it helps, here's what I'm assuming to be TP'ing in to start for a general purpose set:

Hagun/Pole/Tiphia
Turban/Justice/Brutal/Bushinomimi
Haub+1/Hachi/Rajas/Toreador
Cuchulain's/Swift/BH/Hachi

I'm of course looking to maximize the WS build in time, but with my current budget it's gonna take a little time to get where I want to be. With that in mind, at least for the next couple months, things like Hachiryu legs are probably out.

Oh, and naturally, any pointers on improving the TP set (esp. polearm-specific stuff!) are gladly welcome as well!

Question about Manta fishing.

Is it best to fish with one account, or use multiple accounts? This might seem like a stupid question, but sometimes I find myself taking longer to fish when I'm using more accounts then when I fish by myself. I usually run about 2 separate windows, but I can use up to 3. :/

While checking Lesser Colibris' defense outside Whitegate, i go naked (elv THF75/nin) and check one Lcoli : "easy prey"
Then i equip Viking Shield, hoping check would go "Low Defense"

Guess what it checked :

"Easy Prey and Low Evasion"

i'm like wtf o.O Viking Shield Hidden effect accuracy-12 ?

Okay, so I think it's pretty accepted that the longer you wait in campaign, the more AN you have to earn in order to get your keep rank/rank up.

That being said, this time I kinda did something different, and was wondering if I'm just delusional or whatever.

Assume (for fun) that in order to keep your rank you need C*X, where C is some constant, and X i the # of days since your last rank, and to rank up you need 2*C*X.

This means, if you wait 25 days, then go marathon campaign all day, you need to earn 50*C AN or whatever to rank up, or 25*C to keep rank.

Finally, my question. Once you have earned your rankup, does the formula essentially stop? As in, if on day 6 I go earn 12*C AN and the NPC is saying I can get a new rank, but then I wait until day 25 anyway, will my opportunity to rank up remain?
This time, I was trying to get buffer for my fresh 75 thf ~30 days ago when I ranked up, so I did a little past my rankup...yesterday I went to campaign, and it said I had the option to end the evaluation and retain my medal. I don't think I did anywhere near what I normally have to do to get that optional, but I could definitely be wrong.

Yea, that's how it seems to me at the moment...is it also the same for ranking up?

My game's been freezing lately too while playing, and sometimes when I alt+tab (using plugin windower)

I haven't found what's been causing it to happen yet, but it's just recently.

If I was camping despot and had the gauntlet to myself, would I better off:

A) Killing every groundskeeper that was present at the start and then repeating

or

B) Killing 2 alcoves continuously

Two alcoves will work fine, as with any other lottery spawn.

I find that when solo camping Despot he will very rarely spawn if noone is there and you just kill the front ones. I believe it is wise to kill all of them the first time and then maybe stick to the front 8 after.

Also since noone answered earlier:

So I was attempting to fish up some mantas to try and get an angel skin for fun with a friend the other day and followed all the different advice I could find on Wiki and other sources and was unable to fish in the manta without running out of time reeling it in. I was wondering what I needed to actually pull it in. Does the rod I use change things? The fact that I have 3 skill in Fishing? Any advice would be nice.
