Guardian is useless imo if you know what you're doing on PLD. 5/5 Chiv 5/5 Fealty or learn to c3 macro better.

Can counters be parried resulting in a normal attack? Or is my chatlog just retarded? (I can see counters, and I can see parries, can post larger screen if needed)

I got charmed by Vrtra during a zerg gone wrong, turned to the 2hring Monk before he could have possibly targeted me, and tried to hit him.

He countered me and I parried it, I know this because I got something like a 0.3 parry skillup off him before Vrtra and I beat his eyes out of his head.

Besides the hilarity of killing my LS almost singlehandedly, that was the main thing that stood out, parry skillup off a counter.


Regarding RR crit rate, and gorget testing, the 0.1 fTP fits the damage I did on a bunch of gigas bats in lower fuckbutts tower, the crit rate also suggested +0% at 100% Tp, +1% crit rate per 10% TP, for +20% at 300% TP.

With Ghorn brd's and being a taru with 8/8 mp merits, you would still go with chivalry 5/5?

You should never be above 88mp anyway so max mp is moot. I'd still do 5\5 chiv just for lack of better options

I like the increased crit rate on RR for things that aren't birds as well, so it's a dilemma.

Anything with a higher AGI than GC would probably require Anc Torque though if going for the DEX.

I believe the amount of damage absorbed. So a SCH can overwrite a RDM with 1/5 Phalanx II merits.

Decided not to make my own thread about this, since I figured its not necessary.

Myself and two other people (COR, COR, WHM) are interested in attempting a trio on Jailer of Faith. I have a general idea of how the fight will go, but I want to know if this is even possible? Obviously the WHM for Stona, and we'll both be subbing NIN (the CORs).

I was thinking it'd be best to kite in Magic Defense gear, while either using Crim. Legs or Hermes Sandals.

Basically just asking if its possible, and the difficulty of it.

i think, if everything went perfectly, you would be able to trio him. that said, the likelihood of having a perfect fight is almost zero. the problem is the damage/whm's mp ratio. if someone gets petrified, the chance of getting stona'd prior to taking serious damage is unlikely. should someone take damage, the whm is likely going to run out of mp or pull hate to the point of death, or both, eventually. on top of that, several attacks wipe shadows, and there's no gravity for during manafont, and if someone eats a quake II, they will die, and the ability to bounce hate is gone.

the only group that i've known to take down faith in a non-convential fashion was whm/rdm/smn/smn/smn, since titan takes 0 dmg from spells/petrify, and does nice dmg in the process.

whm/cor/cor could likely hold faith, if they were a scout team, for enough time to get the remaining group up to the appropriate spire, but i don't see logistically how they could trio it.

For group one, 5/5 Sentinel for sure, and then 5 on Shield Bash or Rampart is up to debate and personal taste. I went with Shield Bash even without Aegis due to the higher enm (unless you can hit everyone with Rampart) and the utility of the guaranteed stun. But Rampart with a proper Vit set to absorb magical damage is awesome, as well as with enm for hate reasons. I guess 4 Sentinel 3 Bash and 3 Rampart is acceptable, but I would go 5 Sent 5 other.

As for group two, distribute it based on your needs. Before Atonement, 5/5 Chivalry was awesome, now not so much. I rarely have ballads and in some of the solo scenarios I use PLD Chivalry is handy, so I went 5/5 Chiv, 1 Fealty and 4 Guardian. Going with more on Fealty can be useful although its unlikely you will want to pop it every 10 minutes, but it can happen. Guardian as noted before is not really needed for hate, but thats like saying you dont need to stack enm for certain actions as PLD keeps hate fine... So combine Chivalry and Fealty considering how many you use or would like to use them, and throw the rest into Guardian is my advice.

RDM RDM can do faith without much difficulty, as can WHM BRD MNK, provided they have decent gear. I can't see doing it with WHM and CORs as efficient or even possible.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but the answer will change how I proceed in my "research."

Can you be interrupted during the act of using an item? Similar to how you -can- be interrupted during /ra or /ma. If so, what interrupts you? Moving? Getting attacked? Etc.
