Yes a good RDM should have a set where every (nearly every) slot is covered in MND for Slow and para. On the right mobs (which TBH with capped merits etc is a lot more than you first think) a 120+MND build makes slow very useful.

The only slots I keep skill are head (where I use my D.Chap) and 1 ear (where I use my enfeebling earring as I only have 1 MND earring).

I did some searching but didn't come up with much.

What's the best Dynamis - Tavnazia set up?

I assume 1 Tank party (2-3 PLD + support), 1 DD party (3 DD + support) and a BLM party?

or would you do 2 DD/Tank hybrid partys (1 PLD, 2 DD + support)?

No idea who made it but looking at it very closely I can get:

They are assuming 6hit build for all scythes
They are assuming 6-7 hit builds for the GS
They are assuming a base attack of 450
They are assuming a base STR of 100 (which doesn't seem to change from TP to WS)
They are using Spinning Slash as the GS WS
They are using Guillotine as the Scythe WS

I can't work out what they are using as a target, or the base accuracy.

I guess I could PM the guy who uploaded it for a copy but if those are the test variables they are stupid as hell, a good DRK with Yellow Curry/Ceourl Sub/Pizza/+1 is already gonna be over 500 Attack and the GS about 30 less or something.

I maybe wrong about some of those number, as I don't have the same software as the CSI team to with magical button to 'enhance'.

If you do get a copy, post it. It looks like an interesting attempt to compare the common DRK weapons. Even if some of the assumptions are off.

Yeah I'm sure he had the best intentions but you would really need to compare ideal set ups for each weapon, 6hit for all and capped accuracy say with GC as base example, with the different Attack values and attack speeds and WS frequency etc etc.

Capped accuracy will discriminate against weapons with accuracy on them; if you actually have capped accuracy then that's fine, but that isn't true for a lot of people.

But yes if we could fill it with the 'right assumptions' it would be useful.

Been part of a weekly Tav static for quite some time and over that time we've basically used the following set-up:

    'Tank' Party
    PLD
    WHM
    RDM
    BRD
    BLU
    THF

    DD Party
    DD
    DD
    DD
    DD / COR
    BRD
    WHM

    BLM Party
    BLM
    BLM
    BLM
    BLM / RNG
    BLM / RNG
    COR

We took RNG's instead of BLM's for some time as our BLM's were basically there for crowd control plus nuking down PLD's / THF's on 2hr and RNG's meant more damage. We switched to 5 BLM's to allow for better handling of Clusters after a while though (DD's kill small ones, BLM's nuke down big one. Also Fire Carol + Barfire for them to minimise one shot deaths). 5 BLM's has worked better for us imo.

We've only recently started testing giving the DD's a COR + BRD but from first impression it looks to be better. Mobs drop faster than they can kill someone most of the time and the WHM never runs out of MP. With 1 BRD and no COR the WHM has to be very good as MP will be very stretched. DD's also sub whatever they want. I go DRK/SAM, DRG's and WAR's seem to do the same, SAM's always seem to sub WAR but we've never had to say to DD's 'Sub X job today'.

The BLU is really underrated. The runs where we've gone without one have been far messier. Basically all the BLU does all run is Temporal Shift + Frightful Roar when the pull comes in. Headbutt spam on the mobs we're fighting.

We only take one PLD because he never really dies. The only time they do die is either on a wipe or a freak occurrence and the DD's can easily handle everything until the PLD unweaks. The PLD is basically there to point the DD's in the right direction.

I'm not saying that's the best set-up because I don't really know what is. It works for us though. We're going to try a full on DD set-up and a manaburn set-up at some point too.

Hmm sorry I have not looked at the picture properly as it's too small, I assumed Naglering and Algol were the only Great Swords worth using bar relic.

Ok, I'm confused. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of PLD/NINs using a Jelly Ring... is there a point to this? IMO, a Jelly Ring is completely worthless if you're /NIN, because most of the damage you'll be taking is going to be magic anyway, or am I wrong?

If shadows go down and you could potentially take physical damage it benefits you. In situations where you're not being hit physically or you're taking magic damage it won't benefit you, it's pretty straight forward.

Now that we have a pretty good understanding of magic accuracy and the relationship between a target's stats, has anyone narrowed down the relationship of Singing, Wind, and hell, even String while we're at it, to magic accuracy? Meaning, is there evidence that a point of Singing skill and/or Wind skill are equal to one point of magic accuracy? There are a few pieces of equipment that are hard to compare without knowing if skill is equivalent, nevertheless whether both types of skill are equivalent (which some people have refuted in the past). And, hey, it'd be worth finding out a bit more about String skill to see if it's EVER worth using one for Lullaby.

As for a second question, is there any place to find stats on various mobs in the game? CHR and INT stats would all interest me, though INT stats alone would be of benefit. I can probably narrow them down myself over time, but it seems like it would be convenient to have a list out there somewhere. Once I finish leveling BLM I still won't get the chance to play it often outside of Dynamis considering I also have WHM and BRD (and RDM sooner or later too). I'm more interested in calculating damage in order to compare equipment options, though it would even be helpful in picking between a few pieces of equipment on Bard as well.

ffxigear is down and I'm stuck at work changing up my red mage xml for spellcast...

Anyone know what a naked elvaan red mage has for mind @ 75? Trying to maximize stoneskin in as little gear as possible.

Nobody would be trying to maximize their job/subjob for campaign if that was true. Plds wouldn't have to tank just afk on mobs meleeing in joyeuse. Same with sam, it's utter bullshit that you're capping exp/an with just KC melee damage and slug shots from a 27DMG weapon.

Edit: what's your damage look like per slug shot?
probably 180-300 on typical beastmen mobs. the point is to constantly spam ws and never having to waste time curing yourself or tanking.

you cannot really solo like this, but on a mob that has tanks or other melee, you won't gain hate that easily but the xp/an will still be there.

I dont think I have ever seen this question asked/answered, but if it has already i'm sorry.

Does the "increases critical hit damage" effect on Brave Grip work on critical weapon skills like drakesbane or raging rush, or does it only work on normal attack criticals?
