Windows 7 Full version available now (?)

I'm not looking forward to paying for the full version since I want to install it on 2 of my computers, but from the sounds of things, it's worth it. What is the main difference between the 32bit and 64bit versions? Is it just the amount of ram it can utilize?

just wait for the upgrade trick to be figured out. There was a trick in vista to be able to full load an upgrade version, Im sure there will be one for 7 and I bet itll be better than before too

and yeah, even I was not looking forward to paying for 7, but I believe, entirely, that its worth it

Something cool that vista didn't have (I think) is multicore support during bootup, it's supposed to help decrease boot loading time.

You can actually tweak this. To do it, go to Run from the Start Bar and type in 'msconfig.exe'. Click on the 'Boot' tab and hit 'Advanced Options'. There you can specify how many cores it uses when it boots. By default, it's set to only use one core at statup.

installing X86 on my laptop now, i chose to do the custom install (which is a full windows reinstall, effectively removing the old windows)

Question #3: Has anyone tried doing the upgrade from 64bit vista to 64bit 7? I just got my main PC setup the way I like it, so if it's not really as buggy as I originally heard, I'd prefer to just do the upgrade on my PC, instead of the full reboot.

@Asta: I haven't, but it is always better to do fresh installs. Easier to troubleshoot if something is acting weird.

i don't use bluetooth for anything but just for the hell of it i bought some cheap $2 dongle on some discount site & Win7 detected it/had it running in seconds with 0 input, and then it saw my phone

installed it on my HP DV2799ea laptop today, it picked most of the drivers up automatically, if not all of them. All i had to do was update some of them from the HP website.

For those asking, bluetooth was one of the things that worked right away, windows 7 did that itself.

Absolutely correct, as I learned doing my laptop today. I didn't try the upgrade, but I somehow missed the format button and ended up installing it directly over a copy of windows vista. This left my 320gb laptop HDD with 200gb free space after install, so it somehow managed to take up 120gb. In the end i reinstalled it, deleting any partitions and remaking so it was fully new, and it worked perfectly, whole OS takes up about 9gb of space.
