it'll be promised for F4 though
it'll be promised for F4 though
it involves the gazebo and the statues
So cruel Qbert.
:3
so uh
is it just me, or is the dog kinda shitty in this game compared to Fable 2? My dog keeps getting stuck on shit and is pretty much never able to keep up with me, so I keep missing treasures and dig spots. I don't even think he's helping in combat either
Just finished this the other day, did the ending seem really weak to anyone else? I didn't play the 2nd one and my roommate said the ending in that one was kinda shitty as well. She said she was disappointed in the ending to this one, but didn't expect more because of the first two. I barely remember Fable 1, so I have no memory of its ending. I was just let down after enjoying most of this game.
Fable 1 had a pretty good ending. 2 was fucking terrible (the story as a whole was pretty awful in 2 though), 3 was definitely better than 2 in that regard but the ending was still so-so. They should have had made the whole revolution part slightly bigger and saved everything after it for Fable 4 and expanded on it a whole lot more then. The revolution had such a big build up and was over just like that, then it seems like they just tried to cram in the story afterwards and it came out seeming really rushed.
does someone want to explain how this is any better than Fable 2? The minimap is arguably even worse than it was in F2, I have to do a tedious fetch quest for every single NPC I want to be friends with, and pretty much 75% of the time my breadcrumb trail doesn't even work. It usually takes me to the center of town, or disappears entirely, or directs me to an area it wants me to dig and then I have to wait 5 minutes for my dog to catch up and sometimes the dig spot isn't even there.
Better story. Better dialogue. Better sidequests. More fluid combat (although dumbed down in areas, it didn't hinder it). The map is a ton better, it's still just a pain to use as a means of actual navigation outside of town (but it was in 2 too). All your complaints aren't any worse than they were in 2, the breadcrumb trail still has issues but it's a dozen times better than it was in 2. Dog is just as retarded, but again, not worse than 2 was. The only legitimately worse thing is the expression system (although it did make wanting to interact with a single NPC much better) and having to do the silly fetch quests to get relationships with NPCs (although befriending people is pointless anyway unless you want to unlock weapon abilities, in which case they actually made it something you have to actively work on and not just instantly get the upgrade. Not to mention if you're a good King/Queen people will love you already). Neither of those are any reason to think this is worse than Fable 2 in any way.
Let's not forget just how fucking horrible the menu system in 2 was either.
if you're loved as a king, will people give you gifts like they do after you befriend them. I'm not that far yet, I'm supposed to get a tattoo/haircut and go to the merc camp, but I just went and befriended everyone in brightwall and then bought all property in the dweller camp/brightwall area. Should I have waited to befriend everyone if I want all weapon abilities? How does that work exactly?
Yeah, if you kept your promise to that town or helped them out as King/Queen the majority of the people in it will automatically be "Friends" with you, so you can get gifts from them. As for weapons, each non-Hero weapon has 3 extra traits to unlock on them. Some of them will be stuff like "Befriend 10 people", which you have to do whilst you have the weapon equipped to unlock the bonus. There's bonuses for all kinds of crap, like killing X amount of enemies, earning money, doing a certain amount of quests, having sex with a certain amount of people, etc. The bonuses themselves are usually stuff like increased base damage, added elemental damage and increased guild seals in combat.
so for whatever reason a gnome just disappeared (in the arena, with the hobbes) and I can't find it now, and it's not giving me credit for having killed it. am I just screwed?
This is like the 7th game in a row I've played with really fucking annoying bugs/glitches that keep me from getting an achievement/quest/whatever done. I think I'm just cursed

The world of Avalon expands on November 23 with the Understone Quest Pack, adding an entire new town for you to explore, while the Exclusive Hair Pack adds afros, corn rows, asymmetrical bobs, and a dog buff.
That's right, for 160 Microsoft points come November 23, you can sport a lovely afro, rock the corn rows, or do whatever it is people do with an asymmetrical bob. The Exclusive Hair Pack adds all of these, along with a little sumpthin'-sumpthin' to grant your dog five stars across all abilities without having to train.
Once you've got your corn rows and your super dog, you can head on down to Understone with the 400 Microsoft point Understone Quest Pack. Built by eccentric inventor Montague Hummes under the streets of Bowerstone, Understone is a full-sized town with plenty of property to purchase, stalls to frequent, and strangers to have sex with.
But all is not well in Understone. Otherwise it would be a pretty boring update. There's a voice controlling the people of the town, and it's up to the player to figure out who or what it is, with a mor4al decision to be made that will decide the fate of the underground community.
The pack also transforms Saker's bandit camp into a tourist attraction, complete with shooting gallery mini-game, and opens up Reaver's Wheel of Misfortune to curious or stupid adventurers, with new prizes to be won.
Look for both new packs to hit Xbox Live on November 23.
apparently Understone can be beaten in 22 minutes!
