I missed this thread the first time around, but

Molyneux says. Instead of rehashing a slightly tweaked version of Fable II,
    hurr durr

This is why Fable is never going to be anywhere near as great as Molyneux wants it to be.

    FAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

I was hoping it would stay as far away from Natal as possible, but obviously that's not going to happen. -.-

Lionhead community manager Steve Van Tilburgh has promised the world its first Fable III sighting next month.

The company is making two new videos that will be released alongside an unspecified event for the game in San Francisco in February.

"I'm writing storyboard summaries for two new Fable 3 videos," Tweeted Tilburgh (picked up by VG247). "Videos are to come out when we show Fable 3 for the 1st time at an event next month in SF."

Both Gamefest and the D.I.C.E. Summit take place in San Francisco next month, although neither has been singled out yet.

Fable III, announced at gamesom 2009, will be released this autumn. The 'big idea' is putting players on the throne of Albion and allowing them to shape a nation to fit their morals and beliefs.

Both Natal and micro-transactions will be supported, although in what form is both unknown and subject to change so far away from release.

I liked Fable II but still enjoyed Fable 1 more. The Will system there was alot more fun, how they handled Will in Fable 2 didn't sit well with me. I liked that even as a Pure Melee or Pure Ranger I could still pick up Will spells in Fable 1 cause there was THAT much diversity in the number of spells. Then I pick up Fable 2 and there are like, 5 good ones at best, and nothing that really benefits the other 2 archetypes if you're playing a pure runthrough with the exception of maybe Force Push.

I found Fable II pretty fun except for the fact that it wasn't that hard to do almost everything in the game relatively quickly. That could have been remedied with a larger variety of abilities and armor.

Pretty much my feelings on Fable 2. They really need to add more variety in 3 as far as costumes, weapons and options go.

Fable was great, I had really liked it. I guess when II came out I was tired of the scene, because now I find it really hard to get into games where cutscenes involve talking npc that don't either 1) act lifelike or 2) don't really make sense in how they act. I'd rather see a pic of the character and text than an npc whose voice doesn't match up with his/her lips.

Lionhead plans to unveil Fable III during Microsoft's X10 event next month in San Francisco, the studio announced on its Facebook page this morning.

"We hinted at this a couple of weeks ago but today it's official, a big Xbox event called X10 will take place in San Francisco next month showing all the upcoming Xbox games!," the message reads.

"Of course Lionhead is excited about showing the latest of Fable III, but we're also very much looking forward to all other games and announcements... coming from this event! So put it in your diaries; 11th February in SF and on the internet, X10!"

IGN of course will be there bringing you all the latest hands-on previews and news from the event.

Announced at last year's Gamescom in Germany, Lionhead director Peter Molyneux has discussed very few details about the project. He did, however, later confirm Fable III will use Microsoft's Project Natal motion camera as well as contain a form of in-game micro-transactions.

Fable III is currently slated for release this holiday.

    IGN pasted article.

    Event is on Feb 11th.

as with every other molyneux game, I'll believe it when I see it.

Sort of off topic but has anyone ever played any of his really old games? Magic carpet/theme park/theme hospital? I played the shit out of those when i was a kid.

Fable 2 was really fun I enjoyed it. Never played Fable1. My biggest complaint about Fable 2 was that it was too easy and there really wasn't any penalty for dying. The hardest/most fun thing for me in 2 was killing all the gargoyles.

I do think a tougher challenge and larger variety of weapons/armor would have made it a great game though. It was a pretty game and exploring the world was fun too.
