I loved Fable 1 and Fable 2, I will no doubt be getting 3.

Was really dissapointed with 2, it had some great advantages over 1 but lost out on a lot of things. That and I shouldn't have bought into Molyneux's hype. I like the sorta new direction they're going with for 3 though, it might change it up enough to make it interesting.
dont fall for hype, it only leaves you dissapointed
Yeah, this time I certainly won't. I'd like to say it'll be amazing. But I'm hoping for just a semi-decent time killer lol.
I had a lot of fun in Fable 1, racked up a ton of game play hours and played it a few times again just doing different things.
When I got Fable 2, everything that I loved about the first game, was there ... but it felt more like I was looking at it through a window, rather being invited inside and actually allowed to play.
There was not enough open world to explore in the game, given the small field right outside of town, but the rest of the game could have probably been cropped, slapped on a pre rendered 3D backdrop and would have accomplished much the same thing.
I really really hope that they give more freedom in Fable 3, I'm not going to rush out and buy this game day 1, I'll gamefry it at best to see how it is then take things from there, I also wish there was a way to change your characters appearance after maxing them out, to show off one trait over another, rather see this giant massive bulk of a man walking around with lightning shooting from his ass, with a halo dangling childishly over a set of horns (my game glitched every time ;; )
You guys need to stop hating on Mollyollynews. He invented dogs you know.
On a slightly more serious note: is the second worth picking up if I was disappointed with the first?
I didn't keep up on the hype and only tried it out on the PC so long after release any hype was long dead but the game felt a bit lackluster overall.
Was fun and all but was never tempted to go back and re-play or muck about in general.
Most people will agree the first was better than the second, so I wouldn't waste your time.
The fact there has been no early review out makes me a bit sad.. Thats usually the sign of a good game, especially a high profile one like Fable. Instead of an early review IGN posts http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/112/1129929p1.html instead lol
Just got my copy and the free DLC that comes with new copies of the game is 240 MB, God damn. Seems that the only real unobtainable-otherwise things is an outfit, tattoo and a potion to change the breed of your dog. You get some potions in it too apparently but I assume they're obtainable normally in game too.
Also off topic but what the hell at the new Xbox Dashboard, why is everything so square, looks awkward.
IS THE SCOT COSTUME A KILT?!
I still don't even have them yet. It says they'll be added to the "gift queue" in Sanctuary (basically your pause menu) and will be available when weapons are unlocked in the storyline. But I'm obviously much further than that now and neither of the DLC items have turned up. Although they're both listed as 240 MB and download almost instantly. Might be the new 360 dashboard fucking things up or since the game isn't out yet they haven't put them up on the servers properly or something, I dunno.
Honestly, so far it just feels like more of Fable 2 but a bit more polished. I'm not a big fan of the leveling system this time around so far but it's still too early to see if it'll stay this way. Basically more things unlock as you progress through the game rather than progressing through a style. Right now I have absolutely everything unlocked possible up to this point, so it feels less like you should focus on one or two styles and more you're a jack of all trades this time around. When skills start getting more expensive that could change though. Fighting does feel more fluid than 2 did though and all the dialog and stuff is as great as usual. I'm just messing about with some sidequests in the first town before I move in with the story again. Demon Doors are still massive assholes.![]()
Any word of when this comes to PC?
no word on it yet, but i am scared they will cancel it all together since they did it with Fable 2 BUT! apparently Microsoft is going to push for more PC games with a service kinda like Steam
Story http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/25/m...n-on-pc-games/
Well, I only played Fable 1. So, I guess the whole thing would feel new to me. Bah, I'll just buy it. I had a blast with Fable 1.
well since the stories never really share plots or intertwine it doesn't matter, just be sure to not believe all the promises Peter Molyneux says are going to be in the game maybe less then half are really ever there
Im picking mine up tomorrow, though the fact they arent posting reviews the day before has me skeptical.
I also liked the lving in #2, I could be a Mage and hardly touch anything else
Actually it constantly references the Hero of Fable 2, since the protaganist is their son/daughter. But you could still play it no problem without playing 2 anyway.
Also deleted the DLC and redownloaded to no avail, guess I'll try clearing my Xbox cache as well as deleting the DLC itself this time... I wanted that ballin' Highlander outfit. There's also 2 free weapons up in the Xbox Live lobby area that aren't showing up for me.![]()
