They're going to cancel the PC version, which makes me a sad panda. The good news is that if they don't, I'll have plenty of time to study the 360 version and get all of my false hopes dashed by cold, bitter reality.

Sounds like it.. kinda like they did with Alan Wake. I really hope they keep it.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Fable III suffers from some unbelievably poor design choices that take the previous game's ideas and makes them more awkward and tedious. For a start, there are no real menus in the game. Instead of going to a menu screen to equip items, select quests, and check character progress, pressing Start now takes you to a "Sanctuary" full of rooms that you must manually enter in order to do anything. If you want to equip a hat, for example, you have to load the Sanctuary, enter the clothing room, walk to the mannequins, find the right mannequin, select the mannequin, select the hat, and then finally wear the hat. Apparently it was too convenient to just hit Start, select the clothing option, and put on the damn hat.
been playing for 2 hrs.
like: graphics and sound better
love: story telling cool, compels me to play, more epic overtone.
hate: why can't he just fucking borrow mechanics that work in other games. e.g. controls and menus. FFS....
cool: stat comparisons during loading
Really liking what I have played thus far as well.
dlc still isn't showing up for me yet, thought I found it at one point, and in my tired and impatientness apparently paid points for something I already owned. goddamn it
I thought that menu thing was awkward at first too. But seeing my brother play Fable 2 again I've quickly realized that the Sanctuary is a fuckton better than the menu in Fable 2 ever was. There's no load time to and from Sanctuary, the map is a billion times better than 2 and you can tap a direction on the dpad to just instantly go to a different room. I can enter, swap to one of my outfits and change my weapons just as fast as I could in Fable 2. Quicker, in fact, thanks to being able to save entire outfits.
Found it at one point? I've put in the code for the Highlander DLC that came with new copies of the game as well as grabbed the 2 weapons that were free in the LIVE room in Sanctuary and neither have showed up at all. I did get a ballin' ass table from some slut though, that surely tops the outfit. I figured it was maybe an issue with the new dashboard beta or the UK version of the DLC not being up properly (not supposed to be out til Friday here). Apparently the DLC is a vastly different file size for each region.
Edit: Just got all the items now after booting the game up today... there was a system update too, dunno if it was the new dashboard fucking it up or what, but either way it doesn't matter anymore! And yes... it's a kilt Qbert.
Does the regular edition come w/ free stuff ingame, or is that only the collectors edition?
Regular has it too. It comes with all new copies of the game. Collector's has some extra stuff too though obviously.
Hm, I have no problem accessing it. Only time it doesn't let you open it is if you're zoomed in to an area and hovering over a building. Otherwise you can do it anywhere on the world map or town maps.
it literally isn't even showing up as an option. needless to say, it's kinda frustrating.
Been trying to snag a CE, think Ill wait 48hrs before getting the game in case some ppl don't pick up their CE.. then I can have em hold it and pick it up after work (unless anybody can confirm the CE in game stuff sucks)
Where is the damn shop in the sanctuary he keeps saying theres new items but unless im missing it, i can't find it
Fairly certain it just means the LIVE room, where DLC and stuff is supposed to appear. Right now there's just the free weapons to download. I am fucking loving the quests in this game, everyone needs to make sure they do the "The Game" quest when they get to Bowerstone. It owns.
I lost.
Anyone able to get their Deadly Inquisitor sword yet? I got all the goodies from buying the CE but not my pre-order bonuses yet.
you said you can click the d pad direction and access rooms faster? i havent gotten that to work, i still have to run to the rooms. am i missing something?
jasper mentions it at some point, he must be constantly tinkering
