Might not generate a lot of interest here, but my sport finally got a little due from a large sports coverage company! Well deserved, and about time, in my opinion.

If you know about disc golf or don't know about disc golf, you should take a read, it's a great story about a quickly growing sport not only in our country but world wide.

I run by a disc golf course almost daily. Lots of people play it. Seems boring to me, but then again, so would golf from an outsiders view...but I enjoy playing that.

Defining what a sport actually is is largely subjective. I don't care how hard it is to stay on a horse I don't think horse riding/jumping is a sport.

Some things are more leisure activity than sport. But are still both.

Sitting on a dock with a fishing rod tied to a pole... more leisure.

Competing in a deep sea fishing contest fighting in several hundred pound fish... more sport.

Golf is a sport, therefore disc golf is a sport, and although it isn't as popular, it is just as legitimate.

Plow, you got your units wrong on a distance throw, we measure in feet in DG. World record throw is ~821', not sure of the exact number but it is definitely over 800' for sure. Of course, that is nearly 300 yards...

Disc Golf is a bunch of fun, got into it at Winthrop. I enjoy Ultimate frisbee more, but disc golf was a good test of skill. I've also played golf and I definitely prefer disc golf.
