Go with SCH. MP Conservation will serve you better as a Galka for most events than the speed killing power (And nifty tricks like Agas and Stuns) will.

Vermy Cloak go!
I don't have Relic hat or a refresh body for my red mage so I idle in vermy. I just swap it out for cures/enfeebles. This is on 360 too. If you have windower it'll be even easier with infinite maros and spellcast.
RDM has a sickening MP pool. With the composure refresh and convert I pretty much never run out of MP.
Just use all +MP gear until you are under the cap for your +MP gear then switch out the gear for -emn or whatever you want.
I do WHM, hardly have problems with MP, when I do, 400+ devotions give me a few ticks to rest, and with all the HMP i have, no problem whatsoever.
I'm not an MP whore, rarely do I ever start with over 900
When did maxMP start being significant in group-oriented activities? Its the same as in the case of a NIN/DRK - you need enough MP to initiate your spells, at which point the only thing that matters is how fast you're being replenished. The difference between Tarutaru and Galka MP at 75 is what, maybe three tier4 spells? That's exactly how many more spells said Tarutaru is going to get off than a Galka.
If there's any cause for concern, its the intelligence difference, not whether or not you get off 30 spells or 34 spells.
The only thing you really have to worry about with Galka as mage is the MP, but like other people have said, MP is almost unlimited for SCH, so that might be a good choice.
Atleast everyone agrees that when solo or duo the mp matters.
You're saying in group events maxmp absolutely doesn't matter. And I'll agree because nine times out of ten your group has more than enough people at the event. When you're cutting it close, though, you'll want those 4 extra nukes.
This is pretty much all semantics but there's no getting away from needing extra mp when you're not comfortably ahead of the game.
Yes, and apparently, I need to draw you a fucking picture since you didn't even read what I said. Address the point instead of acting like an idiot.
#1: Thunder 3 -> thunder 4 -> thunder 3
takes approximatively 50sec for 427 mp
#2 Burst 2 -> Thunder 4
take 20 secs for 458 mp
In 35 seconds, I get back 107mp , which make Burst 2 -> thunder 4 more mp/damage efficient. Two thunder 3 is slightly more powerful than 1 ancient spell on average, but ancient have the accuracy bonus that tier 3 don't have, which is pretty damn important if we are talking about wyrm.
Assuming we werent talking about Vrtra, Thunder and Ice are never used on the same wyrm, so you have to use your "un-merited" spell, which aren't particularly mp efficient.
And well, there is the whole second point about casting a bunch of small spell raising the monster m.def whenever it applies.
[edit]
Two thunder 3 is better mp than a single burst 2, no doubt about it. However, unless there is hate managent involved, you will rarely find yourself in a situation where it is better to use your weak spell.
Are you rotating T3 on pudding? Better mp yeah...until you have to recast gravity. I would rather finish them in 3 cast, it's better xp.
We have a galka mage or 2 who I trust a hell of a lot more on rdm than some non-galkas.
Where did I say anything about "using AM2 whenever"? It's about the limitations of having a small base of MP to work with. Setting up multiple skillchains, other races will be able to get 2-3 AM2 off, where as after 1 or so if the MP is really that small (I'd assume it is, ffxigear is down so I can't check what they have to work with) then they'd probably be limited to a T4. Retard.
For the OP: Do SCH.
What kind of accuracy bonus/penalty are we looking for? I dont remember ever seeing official result, and they don't feel much more/less accurate.
And well, you still didn't address the mp effiency points that you made fun of. What spell rotation would you use to optimize damage and mp?
sch.. mooree sublimation pwnage..
Has no bearing on anything; they could have just as easily rolled a different race, and your point is moot.We have a galka mage or 2 who I trust a hell of a lot more on rdm than some non-galkas.
sumblimation alone does not seem to be a key point for me.... Ill have rdm and brds around me for refresh I am sure of it.
Does sch get to nuke much endgame? I dont mind debuffing and buffing but cure spam is not fun to me... but i do like to nuke lol...
Leveling up you'll likely heal. EG you can nuke (SCH used to be very nice for EG events, but I think the Esuna update reclaimed WHM's supremacy for healing at most events). However, SCH can take a while to learn depending on whether you play PC/Console and I recommend you look carefully at your macros since SCH is *VERY* macro dependent.
If you don't like curing, don't level RDM. Galka MP is not a problem, and INT is higher than Elvaan...
