Kinda like Obamacare. People want Obamacare so 100% of Americans will have health insurance. That's all fine and good, but I don't want to pay for it. Then it will have a domino effect, putting more polices in effect with rationing health care.

Also what purpose does killing him serve? An eye for an eye and the whole world is blind.

I do think that he should've been allowed to rot in prison and why would this have turned into a religious thread? Terrorism didn't become truly religiously motivated until Bin Laden, old school terrorism was largely for entirely national/geopolitical reasons and religion was left out of it.
What do you mean 'why wouldn't it be'? (Since that's the tone you're taking with Firas.)

He could be innocent. It wouldn't be the first time a suspect of terrorism turned out to be innocent. ( I dunno anything about the case, and I'm reflexively thinking he's guilty though.)

These threads are easier to discuss because the kind of people who rely purely on rhetoric, slowly slip out of the discussion.

Oh - and I can't justify capital punishment other than saying 'they deserve it' which is very subjective but within a threshold (rape/mass-murder/murder/torture/etc.)...

In 2003, Grassley was chairman of the Finance Committee and architect of the bill that added the prescription drug benefit to Medicare. The provision that included counseling about end-of-life care did not originate in the Finance Committee. It was added in a House and Senate conference before passage.
The only thing new about "Death Panels" is the term the GOP is using to scare old people.

I took care of my father, with terminal cancer for years...... from my expierence, because they (doctors) gave him a few months to live does not mean he will die in a few months. He could die next week, or he could live in for a few more years.

Hence speaking.... my father was given 4 months to live with stomach/lung/brain cancer, and he lived for another 3 years including returning to work full time with a feeding tube in his stomach. Just because a doctor says someone has 3 months to live, doesn't mean shit..... I highly doubt this guy is gonna die anytime soon.
Oh I agree with you there. My father was diagnosed with terminal lung, kidney, liver, and spinal cancer. They gave him 3-6 months at the most. He managed to live another two years. Even with that two years the last entire year was us just trying to keep him comfortable. To me he's getting what he deserves right now. A long, painful, horrible death. Karma is a bitch.

Britain wants Libyan oil. Qadafi has made a big post-9/11 show of not being a "terrorist nation" anymore (discontinuing nukes program, compensation for victims of this terrorist act, etc. etc.) and pledged to his people that he would bring this terrorist home. This is just tit-for-tat politics, nothing more.

It's funny because Firas is probably the king of bandwagoning.
This is pretty fucked up. Call me a conspiracy whore or whatever, but there has to be something up that we don't know because in all honesty, the OP doesn't really make sense.

Gadhafi engineered a rapprochement with his former critics following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He renounced terrorism, dismantled Libya's secret nuclear program, accepted his government's responsibility for the Lockerbie bombing and paid compensation to the victims' families.

Western energy companies — including Britain's BP PLC — have moved into Libya in an effort to tap the country's vast oil and gas wealth.
It's not really all that complicated. England is just whoring out it's justice system for oil.
