Figured I'd start a thread for this. The team is going to be announcing the dates for OB next week.

I wasn't going to be playing OB but they (apparently) just announced at Gamescom that it will be running 1.5, so I figure I'll at least mess around with the new character creation options. Additionally, the patch will be available for distribution by torrent.

Seriously though, this is good news as it means that hopefully our clinets won't need updating for the preview event/release. Glad they're taking after Korea/china and releasing patches through torrent; it's really the way to go.

I'm going to do that on my server before anyone else can just to make sure no one else does.

C-Aion beta phase ended like months ago. I mean NA open beta.

Good to hear theyre adding bittorrent support the goddamn craptacular speeds from updating during the 5th beta was lame. 20 meg connection and the best speed i got was in the mid 20kb/s during direct download. Took 7 hours to download a 450MB file ._. Hopefully if theyre launching OB with 1.5 only thing we'll need to worry about come the Headstart will be a small bugfix/final localisation patch.

If its being released by torrent, count on someone upping it to Rapidshare or Megaupload. That's how i got my patch for NA client lol.

If they follow Korea/China, it should be up for Direct Download, Patcher Download, or Torrent.

I firgured theyd do a patcher and a torrent, but I wasnt sure what they did with Korea/China releases. Its not so bad as long as they give me some form of direct DL.

knowing how badly servers get slammed near patch days, it would probably be quicker to get it from a third party distributer (Fileplanet, Rapidshare, Megaupload ect).

About rifting, in 1.2 C-aion, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hearing a lot of complaining about the placement of new elite npcs around the zone.

I was killed by an asmo party outside eltnen last night where there is a patrol walking around. I don't think its too hard to avoid them, on the elyos side at least, the asmo side is not near as spread out.
