The CAion 1.0 > 1.2 patch was ~1 gig; that's where the 1g number was coming from.

If so I know what I'll be spending SEVERAL hours doing on the 18th, making sure every single one of my characters each with their own name is ready to go and be played someday, if not on the 20th

Aion Twitter has the links for CB -> OB and nothing -> OB torrents. (The CB -> OB version is 3GB)

Too bad I didn't bother with CB and now have to download the whole 1.5 client. Aside of my connection being generally slow, the torrent goes even slower ; ; Right now it shows I might download it in like 1 week XD

DL it via FP, its much faster then a torrent (even if all your firewalls are forwarded). Was going at 1.1-1.2 MB / sec until it finished. You can DL the entire client thought FP also... Odd that once you DL / apply the patch, it says it won't be fully configured until the 31st lol

Anyone read the "open beta, not so open" thread on AS? I caught parts of it but didn't want to read the whole 20+ pages of QQing. Supposedly, only people that preordered and ppl with special OB keys can access it. It's not confirmed from Ayase, but not denied either. Well, thinking about it, the fact that they even have OB invitation keys suggests that it won't be an OB open to everyone.

It doesn't affect me since I preordered right before CB1, but it'll be a PR disaster with major raging. I'll probably just fool around with character creation and stick with c-aion

It sounds like they are giving away a ton of open beta keys though. And since all closed testers and preorders are already good to go, its that many people that don't need a key.

They are giving away tons and tons of keys, they just don't want anybody w/ the slightest interest in the game playing for the OB week... not smart marketing strategy if they let anybody and everyone play, especially when the game doesn't need a "real" beta anyways since its 90% just localization and a few other minor tweaks.

According to the one NC employee twitter there might be a small patch at release but you'll have 95%+ of the client ready to roll just by downloading the OB client.

Warhammer was the same way. Open in no way means open to everyone. It has to do with the NDA.
