I disagree. The only thing that's going to get me into this game is if I can see a bit more of it for myself. Playing a week of the beta could be what makes me buy the game, as currently I don't plan to. I'm downloading the client, trying to find some place to get a key.

If its anything like Champions' OB, it literally took me 5mins to find a working key and get in. If you're at ALL interested in the game, just find a key and jump in. 5$ is nothing.

Alright bought the standard from steam and I click "View CD Key" that key is that the one I use for the open beta too or just the one for the headstart?

And I downloaded and installed the OB client from fileplanet and when I went to change it to windowed it's a small ass screen this time but it was much bigger durring the first two preview weekends..what's up with that, resolution I guess?

XI with all expansions was around 40 gigs, lol.

My entire SE directory is about 12 gigs.. dunno where you're getting 40 from.

Someone explained it already. I didn't know it showed the total of all expansions, under each expansion. Retarded way of displaying the information but w/e. My files showed it as this:
FFXI: 9 gigs
Rise of Zilart: 9 gigs
Chains of Promathia: 9 gigs
etc etc etc

Regarding the going down the same path as warhammer thing, the gamw has already standed the test of time in korea and china, so I have atleast a shimmer of hope that it'll be succesfull in NA and EU.

Plus the game isn't being rushed and being released a year before it's ready so it can try and compete with WoW and be a total piece of shit. Like Vanguard, like Age of Conan, like Warhammer etc.

The fact the game has been out for a year and is coming here gives me a lot more confidence in it's success.

I final uninstalled ffxi last night... it's only 9gb total, it's just displayed stupidly in add/remove.

Beta characters will be wiped. Only characters that stay are the ones you make during the 48 hour advance access.

If you bought it through an online vendor then that key is your actual game key. Go log into your NC Soft master account and click Add Serial and plug that key in to create your Aion account. That Aion account is now flagged for the open beta and your retail headstart.

The items are linked to your Serial Code. At least, that's how I understood it. Each character you create will have access to the items too, not just the first. You might wanna swap with your brother ;x
