    Einherjar Advice Please

I'm sure this will be laughed at or made fun of but I'm looking for some advice for a new einherjar shell. I know that there are threads here about einherjar but none of the advice in them seems to be able to help my linkshell. My ls currently runs Einherjar with around 18-24 people. We have access to just about every job but all of our DDs for the most part are only average geared. We have around 8-12 people who can come black mage every run and they are pretty exceptionally geared.

This is an example of some of the setups we would use:

    WHM
    BRD
    PLD
    DRK
    SAM
    RNG

    BLM
    BLM
    BLM
    BLM
    BNM
    COR

    BLM
    BLM
    BLM
    BLM
    BRD
    COR

Currently we use the two bards and two cors to handle all the sleeps and the melee simply help to hold mobs still while the blms nuke them. This strategy works very well for normal enemys and we usually have around 10 minutes left for the boss. We generally time out or wipe on the bosses :/ Any insight would be appreciated. Also we have tried zerging and our DDs just arent strong enough for that strategy atm.

Zerging is the only way for the bosses.

Have your bard pop SV, Nightingale and Troubadour then rotate through the DD partys.

You group looks too BLM heavy. You need another melee party imo. 18 is too low really, you need to find a few more people to fill a second DD party.

You may want to try and pick up at least 2 more parties of melee.

Try to keep the melee's well kept, the ideal set for a melee PT being:

    WHM
    RDM
BRD (Rotating w/ another melee PT BRD)
    DD
    DD
    DD

If you're going to use a lower ammount of people, like having 4 PT's generally, you will want exceptional melee. Melee with out merrits and high end gear just won't cut it with low numbers. I would also suggest getting melee jobs that are good for zerging the boss. Having 1 DRG in the mix helps a lot, but WAR and SAM really excel when it comes to the boss fights. DRK is also quite nice, even if their 2 hour isn't that helpful against the boss, they can pump out a lot of damage with the proper buffs.

I would also suggest that you either replace the PLD with a DD job, or replace one of the DD jobs with a RDM in your first PT set up. Having a very solid and well kept parties is key to success in my opinion.

So yeah, basically I would suggest trying the following, if you're going to use around 24~

WHM, RDM, BRD, DD, DD, DD
WHM, RDM, BRD, DD, DD, DD
    (Top two BRD's rotate)

    BLM PT
    BLM PT
    (Can keep these as-is, really)

Having a large number of BLM is really going to help you guys tear through the regular mobs. Once you guys hit the bosses though, your fights are going to be quite prolongued due to the lack of raw melee power. So if you find yourself having trouble outlasting the bosses, you may want to either have melee try and sub something for a bit more survivability (lol/nin). I would also suggest having your RDM come /DRK for chainstuns on bosses under 30% or so, as the last 25% of most bosses usually calls for a change in behavior (i.e., they get harder). Not much else other than that, I would focus on getting more experienced and well geared players, especially if you're going to keep it "low-manned."

My final suggestion would be to make sure those BLM have different jobs (melee or mage or tank) for Odin fight, as BLM is essentially useless there.

Matsuru just made us all look bad by winning Ein T1 with 10 people on Unicorn... so strange setups *can* work . But I agree, if you're new, I'd try another melee party.

(p.s. mats has mythic WHM and his group pretty much all has relic weapons/maxed out gear, so don't try that )

I'm pretty sure Tier 1 has been cleared with 6 before. However, you can get as little as one spawn of mobs + boss, and the bosses for tier 1 can be fairly easy.

Having low numbers really catches up with you in tier 3, when the regular mobs can be a bit more deadly (scorps spamming AoE, Taurus, etc.) and all of the tier 3 bosses can be very difficult if the fights are prolongued.

You'd have to be REALLY fucking lucky on what mobs you got and only have one wave to clear all the mobs with 6 people. As for tier1 bosses, they have higher HP (and worse TP moves for some) than all the tier2 and tier3 bosses.

Maybe if you got 6-12 easy mobs and the Manticore/Orobon/Bugard boss... I guess.

With 10 he said they cleared with 8 min to spare. I'm anxious to see if he can pull it off again.

Thanks very much for the advice. One thing about the zerging though, I've had people tell me that souleater was nerfed in einherjar, and other people have told me its only for certain bosses. My Ls has a kraken club drk and we never bring him because they are convinced that it would have no effect. Could anyone tell me what the situation is with SE zerging there? I could not find much info on it.

Can clear all plain mobs of t3 with 6 to farm amps, I'm not surprised 6 can beat T1 boss~

As far as I know souleater zerg still works on T1 and T2 bosses but not on T3 bosses.

I am fairly sure that bosses gain resistance towards soul eater as their HP is reduced. It works ok for the first 15%~ or so, but after that it starts drastically getting reduced. I would not recommend relying on KC DRK DMG for einherjar bosses. He is better off using his scythe or gsd full time, as his WS numbers will be high due to SV BRD songs.

Also, med's go a long way here. Every melee should have an icarus wing for the bosses. It's basically a free 15k~ DMG, or more, depending on how many melee you have.
